I thought it was a quick mock at first.

I can't help feeling this logo is probably an interim measure to ensure people know it's still the same channel. Once established under the new name, I would expect it to end up with a more generic Sky style logo.

100%. History channel and its logo is a very familiar brand even if you don't watch it. If it just said "Sky History" in the usual Sky font I'd have just thought "Oh, like the History channel?"

Interested to see whether Sky’s deeper investment in the brand will kill off the History Play Amazon channel...

I imagine it will, as it'll be on NOW TV instead.

That looks awful

What's the idea of tagging 'Sky' onto an already successful channel brand that people are familiar with? What good does it do? It's better without the 'Sky' brand. It's not even wholly Sky owned. Is there going to be Sky Lifetime or why just History. It looks worse than 5 Spike.

It doesn't add anything to the History channel brand but it does add something to the Sky brand.

The Sky Arts Facebook page has been renamed as "Sky TV", which seems a bit odd. The website address is unchanged though.

The Twitter page hasn't changed, and haven't noticed changes to any social media pages for other Sky Channels.

I hope this doesn't mean that Sky Arts is on the way out.

Sky One's facebook page also got renamed Sky TV too. I think it's just a better way of cross-promoting shows across the Sky TV portfolio using social media.
