I know I've seen one on Channel 4, where that one from the c4 news tells us about it, and I think it was one on the BBC too.

That would be Jon Snow speaking in that advert, though with no sound and Subtitles instead. I saw the Corrie Subtitles advert on Monday night, and I found it quite funny, when the TV displayed Text: "Hello Fred...", also according to that ad subtitling is also available on ITV News.
The BBC also has a Subtitles advert with Angel Griffin, not as good as the old one that had the multicoloured 888 logo.

it's the sound drops that ruin that trailer, if it was constant but with noise it would have been better.
The old 888 trailer was ruined when they put that horrific animation onto the subtitles.
The best advert on this theme though was the BBC World Service "Can you hear" adverts

It's a good advert.
In the Channel Isles we've had a subtitles advert for a long time. Was it just Channel who got it? It was basically an old romantic film being shown on the TV with no sound but just subtitles, and you saw a man crying watching it even though he couldn't hear it.
It looked like a cheap Channel advert to me, and i'm sure it showed Channel Text but i can't remember. Anyone else know what i'm on about?

There was one where somebody was sitting on the bed watching the TV whilst their partner was asleep with subtitles on, yet crying over it. Is this what you're on about?

I'm not sure. I haven't personally seen it for a while, and when I did it was overnight.

Ahh well that's screwed that theory then, haha.
Maybe they adapted the advert for Channel, because i swear they used the words "Channel Text 888" with a caption of the Channel Text screen.
Do they still play this advert?
