I'm a bit stunned that ITV would take such a decision... surely if you were going to watch Paul O'Grady you'd watch the new one, not the repeat.

Q.
How stupid will I feel when the ratings reveal that more people watched ITV than C4?

A.
Still not quite as stupid as the people who tuned into the repeat

Oh give over, its identical in every way to the old ITV series. It's no better or no worse

Bloody hell, why don't you [removed by moderator], it would be easier for everyone.

Was your little comment justified? It makes you wonder what you edited from to that outburst. The show is the same as ITV's , the only difference is the slight lick of paint and thats done without Charles Allen's cock insight.

I'm just....it baffles me. It really does. ITV1 could put a Heartbeat repeat on or even an old Marc Curry edition of Catchphrase would do. I can't understand their motive here.

(Sorry I keep on moaning about ITV, but, i'm bemused!)

So brand new titles, brand new studio and a brand new format then! Laughing

The only thing that's changed really (apart from the channel) is the logo.

One thing of interest - Richard and Judy used to have two breaks and end at 5.55pm - but Paul O'Grady had three breaks but carried right through till 6pm, with just a trailer before The Simpsons.

Obviously this will be seen as pro-ITV but the way I see it is. You watch the new edition, a guest you don't like comes on, so you switch to the old one for a bit, then switch back later. The old one will still register some viewers

They are showing vintage drama from next week anyway, so there's only 4 more days left to slag off ITV (plus about 6 month's legacy when people keep bringing it back up again). I'll be interesting to see if Wycliffe gets more viewers than Old Paul O'Grady

Of course it's seen as pro-ITV, given your track record. You really should work in PR. Perhaps you do. Defending the indefensible is an uncommon ability, mostly demonstrated by politicians.

The interesting thing will not be if Wycliffe gets more viewers than Old Paul O'Grady, but by how much New Paul O'Grady beats Wycliffe.

The diversion technique around the real issue is an old trick most people can see straight through.

Forgot to mention but during Deal or No Deal after the competition promos at the end of each part we cut back to Noel telling us not to forget to watch Paul O'Grady after the show. I just hope that's not a regular plug!

Some people may prefer the guests on ITV1 compared to the ones on Channel 4, and vice-versa. Very Happy

Yeah, we all love Davina don't we. She was on the ITV repeat, how ironic. Laughing

There is no real issue. Of course New Paul O'Grady will beat Old Paul O'Grady and of course it will beat Wycliffe or any other new formats they may come up with. Short of closing down for an hour there isn't anything ITV can do. They will now just potter about in 4th place in the ratings

I personally will be watching CH4 between 5 and 6. I'd watch at 4.15 as well if I was at home at the time
