New Newsround Presenter

I see Anglia TV's weather girl Becky Jago is the new Newsround presenter to replace Kate.

I think Kate's had her days, it would be a good idea to replace her. As mentioned on the forum a few weeks/months back, Kate's got a future on presenting Breakfast.

...and Watchdog. Kate has outgrown Newsround.

And Becky Jago! I can't believe it! Good luck to her, good to see a local weathergirl going on to bigger and better things. But she'll have to be a bit more excited than she is on Anglia Weather

It's kind of difficult to get excited about Weather in the Anglia region. Nothing exciting ever happens.

Anyway, who needs exciting weather when you've got down-right cute. Good luck Becky - I'll miss you at 6.

Hmm - The Wright Stuff is made by Anglia in Norwich (or is that Granada Productions East now )so it could easily fit...

I think Becky also worked on 'The Vibe' - an East Anglian radio station as well - so that kind of fits with the style of The Wright Stuff.

And since when did Newsround become simply CBBC News as in its website address.... and it now says CBBC Newsround on the banner...

I'm reading too much into it I know!

CBBC News has been around for a couple of months now.
It's the generic brand, with Newsround the specific ...
rather than have two separate web sites they have just one - both addresses link to the same site ... and very good it is.

Also - there are going to be editions of Newsround on the new BBC Childrens channels.

There were adverts for jobs on it in the BBC in-house newspaper, Ariel. They were calling it 'Newsround Lite'.

I suppose Newsround and Newsround Lite will both be part of the CBBC News empire, along with the website etc. Be interesting to see what the new BBC Childrens channels are called - maybe they'll be CBBC something, rather than BBC something?

And I think I'm right in saying the new BBCi Front Page says CBBC Kids.
