It was mentioned on the Forum lastnight that Sky News was not launching on Monday 3rd September after all. I made sure that these facts were right by checking Sky News' style of presentation at 6:00pm tonight - they were right, it's still the old 'boring' style.

Were we all let down? Maybe, maybe not.

At 6:30pm we were all let down again, this time by the BBC. They failed to change Newsroom South East to South East Today, as advertised last week on BBC1.

So, here we have both Sky and the BBC letting us down on the same day! What is going on?

But surely the BBC's mistake is on a much smaller scale as every other region wouldnt have noticed anythig different?

Err what?! South East Today did happen - you're obviously in a NRSE region and obviously saw no difference! They trailer was played out in 'both' regions for some reason.

And we knew Sky News wasn't going to relaunch last week as I posted here...

Yeah Steve, if you read above above I did say this: 'It was mentioned on the Forum lastnight that Sky News was not launching on Monday 3rd September after all.'

Yeah and I was just mentioning that it was mentioned on the forum on Tuesday that the relaunch was going to happen - not last night! Smile

As Asa has said South East Today has launched ... the promo that ran across the south east last week was mentioning Kent and Sussex which is where the new programme broadcasts to.
On Newsroom South East on Friday they even said that the new London programme would be in a few weeks/months time. So the BBC didn't cock it up.
And as to Sky ... I don't think they've ever officially given a date for a re-brand ... it's all just rumour or informed speculation. The Sky mag says September doesn't it ... and we still have much of the month to go.
