I don't know if she's actually new, but I've never seen her before, and I watch News 24 quite a lot, shes on overnight, Heather McCarthy. Have any of you seen her yet? I think she's taken over from Joanna Gosling as she's moved to the 0900-1300 slot with Ben Geoghegan. Also, do any of you know what's happened to Jackie Hardgrave (who Joanna Gosling took over from) and Lucy Hockings, who used to be on overnight as well? Its a shame that Heather McCarthy has taken over, as she now does most of Clarence Mitch*ll
's slot - he's great! I'm not keen on Susan Osman though. She always appears to be frightened to me - probably being all on her own in that large News 24 studio for hours on end all night!!

Yes, i've seen her. (I actually haven't seen her before) I thinnk she's really good presenter and doesn't make cock-ups! Rather good presenter!
She sdid make on mistake on her first bulletin - At the end she said 'This is BBC News...24' She wasn't supposed to say 24, as it was broadcasting around the world - poor foreigners did know what was going on!

That happens ALL the time! 'This is BBC News.....24'
Heather McCarthy presents South Today but seems to be presenting the graveyard bulletins lately.
Again, like Susan Osman from Bristol, why get in a presenter from Southampton?

Im glad others have noticed her as i thought she was pretty good. Yet another good presenter for the night shift (the best shift). The presenters do seem to have a habbit of appearing on the news and then vanishing without warning but they mostly do still work for BBC News as i wondered what happened to anna jones as she dissapered without warning almost a year ago but then she reappeard the other weekend. Does anyone know where eileen wheelan is as she hasnt appeared since the news 24 relauch but she has done a few reports so im pretty sure she is still at BBC News.
A lot of the presenters are from regional newsrooms.
Susan Osman, presents on BBC Points West
Gwenen Edwards presents on NRSE and McCarthy on South Today
BBC Scotland i would imagine would have the largest regional news programme than any other of the BBC`s and yet not one person from Reporting Scotland has ever been on BBC News 24
I noticed a few weeks ago that Mike Embley (Newsroom South East) was on News 24 on a Sunday aternoon, in place of Brenda Paterson.
Hey, what is it with Brenda Paterson? She's only on News 24 for 3 hours a week (Peter Coe is too, but he does BBC World as well), and where is she the rest of the time. Also, her e-mail address doesn't work - brenda.paterson@bbc.co.uk. Is she not employed by the BBC?
I think they should get Claire Frisby (Look North) on News 24, just for the great name really. Imagine it now 'I'm Matthew Amorilliwalla & I'm Claire Frisby'.
