New Look-around

Upon my first ever glimpse of Border Television this evening, I happened to notice that Lookaround was all different to the pictures which I have seen of it, and given that we were recently told that it was getting a new look, was it relaunched tonight? It wasn't that bad I suppose, the studio was a little different to what I expected!

Also, I noticed that before Lookaround they used a 'Coming Up' slide showing what was on for the rest of the evening which looked quite nice. Do any other regions do this?

I'm quite impressed actually, Border isn't as bad as I thought it was. I did have pretty low expectation though!

Hmmm, incidentally, now that Border are owned by Granada, and Granada are apparently rebranding their channels with the Heartbeat endcap-style look, I wonder if this means a return for the chopsticks logo? Just a thought...

Do Border have a use for an endcap?

Neither did I. Border use the smoky hearts credits like Coronation Street, Heartbeat etc, and a capture of their itv hearts ident with 'A...[logo]...Production' written on it. I didn't catch the start of the programme (doh) but I was reasonably impressed. Didn't like the weather forecast though

The new look has been on the go for about a month now. It also has a generic sidebar on the closing titles in blue, like on Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

I didn't necessarily mean for an endcap, I meant for the whole look of the channel.

Anyway, I really love Border. It's everything that ITV1 should be- friendly, regional and, above all, cheap. It's so nice to watch. In fact, I'm going to go and watch Border News on it in a minute I think.

Only problem is it's got the crappy Leeds continuity

Although Border seem to recognise that the continuity is rubbish by putting things like the menu on-screen at 6.00 (which is produced by Border rather than Leeds by the look of things).

Has Border News changed in line with the new look Lookaround?

Border News had new titles a couple of months ago, a yellow/white scheme based on the Border ITV Logo.

Border News has indeed changed - it now looks fantastic.

Hang on, did I say fantastic? I meant fantastically cheap.

So thats 2 new looks for Border News in the space of a year!.

Start of Year: Grey Lookaround, Grey Border News
Middle of Year: Grey Lookaround, Yellow Border News
Now: Blue Lookaround, Blue Border News

is that correct?
