Not that UKTV Gold shows 'Gold' programming - (unless BBC 1 stuff from 6 months ago is classed as 'Gold'........which I'm sure it is??? yeah right).

The only annoying thing about UKTV Gold is that programmes are 40 minutes instead of 30 minutes. I hate programmes that start ar 20 past or 20 to instead of on the hour or at half past! They always clash with other shows because they are 40 mins long instead of 30 minutes!!

I'd rather UKTV turn a 30 minute BBC programme into a 40 minute one in order to accommodate the ads instead of hacking great chunks out of them to keep them at 30 mins, which they have done in the past.

And recently it's started showing US programmes. Oh dear, so I could technically ask the Advertising Standards Authority to investigate claims of deceptive advertising Laughing

Technically you couldn't as it rebrands itself as UStv Gold when showing those shows Wink

But it should then be assigned another channel number branded "USTV Gold" and timeshare with UK Gold.

Regarding the finishing of programes, have you noticed that a 40 minute programe starting on the hour, still finishes about 33 past.

'The Generation Game' is the latest show to get the "Now & Then" treatment. Bruce will be hosting - more on MediaGuardian.

See this is the problem with UKTV, when they find a fairly decent format they flog it to death until it gets very very dull (Wogan, Jimmy and now Brucie).

But on the relaunch front, looking forward to it and it's quite a while overdue.

I love documentaries on UKTV but why of why do they have to take a hacksaw and cut 10 minutes of material from programmes.

Last night I watched the Lost World of Mitchell and Kenyon and I noticed that over 15 minutes was cut.

The editing on Top Gear on UKTV G2 is awful!! The cut so much out and it always doesn't look right. Please could they just show these programmes in full like Top Gear 8:00-9:15pm? What does people think?
