Tyne Tees have relaunched their website and they are making a stand for non-corporate originality - they haven't taken the granada media template. Looks quite snazzy!
Did they HAVE to have 'ITV1 Tyne Tees' on it though? Even the Granada generic sites still have just the station name. But yeah, nice to see the clock remain from the old site - and some remants of their all too short lived and underused 2000 corporate identity.
All they've really done is change the graphics and move a few bits and pieces round.
A pity really, though I guess it had to happen eventually. Still, at least through Granada Learning TTTV actually have a proper department for building websites themselves. Otherwise we'd have the usual remotely-produced rubbish other stations have made for them.
I quite like it actually. It's a shame to see the end of that lovely logo in favour of that pathetic ITV1 thing, but at least it means the site isn't going to be condemned to that clone that all the other Granada Regions use now for a little while longer.
I particularly like the fact they still managed to squeeze in Tyne Tees' logos on the banners. There's that one from the main entrance, and even a load of vans with the joined-up lettering from the seventies. You've got to love the way TTTV always manage to slip in these little things whenever Granada try to stamp it out.
