New look T4

T4's had a bit of a make over by the looks of it - the same logo - but new idents, trailer styles and generic credits.

Not that easy to explain - the idents rather than "T4" made up out of everyday things has the actual "T4" logo appearing in various places, like on a cake and a plate.

The break bumpers and logo elsewhere kind of now forms up lava-lamp style, rather than a wipe effect or 3D spin.

The graphics too - kind of inspired by speech bubbles, but really just a rectangle with the programme name on and a little tick in the corner pointing to the logo.

As I said - crap descriptions, you need to see some caps really to see what's going on. It does look pretty good though.

Oh, and the set seems to be very glassy and icey - though I've only seen one shot of it.

Any need for the massive gaps between sentences?

You forgot about the new font being used.

It's a very good refresh of the old rather than a total redesign. I presume it only launched last week when I first noticed it.

The only thing that I don't really like about it is the new studio. There's too much going on in that background, it makes my eyes close, and concequently go back to sleep.
Though I'm still a big fan of the glassed studio in the channel 4 building, and the fact that it was mainly live back then as well.

I was waiting for The Simpsons to start yesterday and I saw the T4/Cbeebies style presenters introduce it then a regular Channel 4 announcer introduced it again over a T4 slide. What was the point in that?

It was one of the Hallowe'en episodes so I wondered if Channel 4 thought they'd better say so before the episode started in case there were younger children watching.

Same kinda thing happened at the end of Hollyoaks Omnibus, a T4 slide came up about Leaukemia (sp?) and that was voiced by the normal Channel 4 announcer.

The T4 links are often recorded aren't they, so that may be why

Whenever I've watched it's been a case of a 5 min link about something and then a throwaway line 'Here's Hollyoaks' as if an afterthought at the end

That's right... they were selling off bits of the T4 set the week before (even the CA was up for sale lol).

I like the new look, but the new set is awful. It looks really posh.

I had the utter misfortune to watch T4 lately. What a pair of self-obsessed vain clotheshangers they had presenting.

Neither of them knew who their guest was (the lead in Entourage) nor what the programme was about.

Not that it mattered - no matter what the actor said the pair of them managed to swing the topic back round to themselves and bore me endlessly.

If that's what "yoof tv" is these days then I'm not missing anything.

Worst youthstrand ever.

T4 is unbearable these days but I thought it was just me getting old. They really are awful and they're all exactly the same with their smarmy, pretentious, sarky attitudes. The saddest thing is they seem to think they're hilarious.

Agree 100%.

Again, I thought it was me just not getting it. I just can't seem to stand any of them, at least when Margherita, Ben & Dermot presented they talked and listened to the guests, and more importantly to the audience. Even June & Vernon weren't as bad as the current lot.

I still don't see the point in it being pre recorded. Though Channel 4 must be happy as they haven't put the contract out for any other companies. I personally thought it was a thousand times better when it was made in house.
