Ahh yes, that looks great. BBC Sport pres is really impressive.

It's a shame the BBC has gone with the channels they currently have. CBBC Channel and BBC Three and Four are flops (although I personally like BBC Four). Cbeebies has done alright, although not great. If I had my way, I'd just have a third general, BBC Channel (BBC Three) which has Cbeebies and CBBC programmes during the day and have a BBC Sport Channel which would show all the sport the BBC has access to (not a lot admittedly) and Sport News.

Failing this, just bring back 24hour BBC Knowledge. I really miss that.

I like the feel and look to this new Sunday Grandstand. Nice presentation, and Craig seems to have already settled in his new role.

Yeah it's looking good -

It seems like they're using the same new "holoscreen" technology as News 24 (complete with the slightly washed-out look!) -

Also note the nice plasma-screen coffee table!

The only slight problem is that the graphics don't quite match the studio (in terms of colour), but otherwise they look good -

So this washed out look is deliberate on News 24? It doesn't look that bad as a background for things like Grandstand (or even on News 24), the problem is when using them to do live interviews....the washed out effect really doesn't help.

The new look looks great from those caps- but those "sofas" look incredibly uncomfortable!

And I'm guessing they're not going to be putting cups of coffee on that coffee table/screen. Nice touch though.

hmm now this is surprising - I thought they'd have designed the graphics so they could also use them on News24 to replace the current ones which the Tower overlaps, but it would appear not

Yes. Bit of a slip up there. BTW For the record I think the current BBC SPORT graphic style is better than the that of the "all new" N24 anyway. Perhaps N24 can be forced to nudge their tower slightly to the left, just for SPORT's benefit ?!?! Wink

I doubt it - almost everything on N24 and World is designed to fit together, Sport should be the ones to edit their graphics.

The sport graphics have been designed in line with all their other graphics that remain to be used. For example to full time scores - they all have the yellow line in the same location. There are some exceptions to this - for example the racing graphics.

The News 24 graphics will probably have not a lot to do with the BBC Sport team. They will be probably be designed by BBC News, taking the elements from BBC Sport.

Those graphics have been desgined for the news updates in Grandstand anyway. The new captions on News 24 will probably look like what they have at the moment.

Have to say the new Grandstand set with coffee table etc has echoes of the last Liquid News set - minus the carpet. I think we're going to see a lot more of Craig Doyle - he seems to be the only male general type presenter the beeb have (a bit like I always thought Philip Schofield would be until he went off to ITV).

Like the new background graphics for Grandstand, but still think they need to work on how their yellow BBC Sport graphics animate onto screen, especially the menus and previews of forthcoming programmes.

As for the programme itself, Sport+ is no different to G2.

Why do they seem to be making Sunday Grandstand better than Grandstand itself!!!?

What's wrong with that. These graphics are designed for BBC1 and BBC2, not BBC News 24, so it's not a problem. I know the BBC News 24 BBC Sport graphics don't fit - personally I think News 24 should use their own sports graphics.
