Is James2001 obsessed with widescreen or what!? Don't you have anything different to talk about???

If you are who I think you are on digitalspy (NR Lester) I remember you being p***ed off that the UKTV Channels didnt want to go widescreen so somehow I think you might have an obsession with widescreen, just the other way round to me- you want more widescreen, I want a freeze in the amount of16:9 progamming. Its not like i talk about it all the time, its just that its annoying everything is going widescreen when so few people have widescreen sets. I dont even talk about widescreen that often, its just you notice the posts I make where I do.

I'm fantastically impressed by this morning's SMTV and the unmentioned new look CD:UK, which looks equally great. One thing which niggles me, however, is that the credits say at the end:

presented by:
anthony mcpartlin & declan donnelly and cat deeley

when it should just say

presented by:
anthony mcpartlin  declan donnelly  cat deeley

like the other names are (eg. researchers or something). I am surprised, however, that CD:UK wasn't ECPed, given ITV's current obsession with this.

As for SMTV 2099, as much as I loved this, it was probably a summer filler, just like last year's equally excellent Captain Justice ('Always disappears with a puff').

I'm not obsessed with widescreen at all - in fact there is a lot where we agree on - i do HATE cropping - although I don't go on about it - but if programmes are shown on digital tv by the likes of UK Gold which have been produced in 16:9, why can't they be shown that way - atleast then you can change your digibox so your 4:3 set can can see nothing but picture.....every post I've seen its like, 'widescreen is **** ' or, 'the statistics show people don't have widescreen therefore no more programmes should be made in 16:9' - or the like; not that many people had colour when colour programmes were being made - you just have to accept that times are a changing..... that's life.

Just like Spiring said, it's a CiTV program, and any program can have a text service, it's not just limited to CiTV Smile
