Nickelodeon UK launched a new look this Monday
Coverage now online at Sky Idents
Quote:
Nickelodeon says the new idents ‘mash-up’ characters and shows on the network and aim to provide navigation across the channel schedule. The channel says the new look was created in-house by Nickelodeon’s marketing team. It says some external consultancies were involved, but would not name them.

Nice idents, once again no SD widescreen. Rolling Eyes Are they being played out by MTV?

Yes from TV-AM Camden town, and it plays out into quite a few territories could explain why it's 4:3 SD.

If Nick HD is like Comedy Central HD, they will be showing them in high definition on there. Viacom seems to be ahead of other broadcasters in broadcasting presentation in HD, but stuck way behind with their playout of SD. Even though Comedy Central SD is widescreen now, it has no widescreen switching and broadcasts all 4:3 cropped to 14:9.

Reminds me of the Paper look.

I still think it was a mistake to get rid of the orange splat theme. That was pretty much iconic.

Discovery Networks is the same.

Clarissa Explains It All is available on DVD at Poundland if anybody feels nostalgic. It has the wrong title sequence for the episodes but it's probably the one you'll remember.
