I remember someone saying Corrie is set for it in early 2002 and does anyone know why some of the regions show Emmerdale cropped on digital? One very bizarre decision...!

Cheers, Asa
I've had digital ITV/ITV1 for around a year now, and ever since, its always had Emmerdale cropped on Carlton/LWT and Anglia, along with Trisha and other programmes.
They make sure they frame it for a 14:9 crop, so ideally u dont miss anything, but it doesn't normally take into the overscan, so things appear very close to the top and bottom of screen.
As for the reason, I don't know, I did have a reply from Carlton, but I can't remember what the answer was.
Central News (East) was cropped to 14:9 as well at times until April. I hope this Corrie relaunch doesnt signal an end to the famous music. I think a lot of us know what happened when EastEnders changed it.

I vaguely remember reading a few months ago Corrie was going to get new credits and the theme would be updated too. I suppose that'll be some time soon.
The UK soaps (I don't watch them) seem to update their credits/theme very rarely - a matter of 5 years or more I think. But the Australian soaps seem to totally overhaul their credits every year or two, with minor changes a few times a year, and update the theme more regularly.
Home and Away will be in widescreen from Christmas. Rather than totally re-shoot the credits they seem to have stretched/zoomed them.
EastEnders 'upadted' their theme to the Jazzy version in May 1993. It caused uproar so in April 1994 (11 months later) They changed the music to a slight remix of the original music. I think if the same happens to Corrie, the same will happen and we'll end up with this music again. Lets hope the new look ditched the crap ECP credits.

I quite loved the jazzy theme - what was so wrong with it?!
