With September fast approaching I thought that I would mention that a good few weeks ago I read in Braodcast that This Morning was going to get a new look and the show was going to have a greater journalistic edge when it comes back in September under a new editor. It also mentioned a new theme. I hope they keep the theme tune as its the theme that keeps this morning so recognisable.

But, it only got the current look early last year, did it not?
I am trying to remember but I think in the article it said a new on screen look. I hope that there is a new set too. I have never really taken to the current one although it looked quiet good when I went and watched the programme being broadcast live from the studio.
Yes definately the longer version of the theme tune and hopefully they wont change it. It was great too hear that fern and Phil have signed with ITV so fingers crossed we will see This Morning for its 20th birthday, which I think that is Oct 08, correct me if im wrong.
They did this a few years back, tried to give it a more journalistic edge, and it flopped big time. It's a great show as it is, they shouldn't be messing with its format.

I have to agree with you, Phil. This Morning's format is fine: a good mix of serious stories, lifestyle, entertainment and general fun. I really wouldn't want it to become more serious...especially with Phil and Fern hosting it. They're much better suited to lighter material.
I too hope they keep the same theme tune. Surely they won't change it after almost 20 years? It's probably one of the most recognised theme tunes on TV today. Whatever they do with it, I hope they make it longer again. That short version they introduced was naff.
I smell bullsh*t. ITV are hellbent on dumbing everything down. Why would they suddenly decide to give 'This Morning' - of all shows - a "journalistic edge".?
