When I spent a time in the Granada region last month I couldn't believe how poor its presentation is. Its like one of those amatuer student tv channels, with dodgy sounds and graphics. It makes Carlton look like a top notch broadcaster!
Scottish TV has to have the very best ITV regional presentation - truely excellent!

Granada's graphics and music are awful, but the actual programme and studio is good!
HANG ON!!!
Granada are apparently (still) planning to relaunch GT in the near future, indeed they nearly did a few months ago according to c@t or whatever he's called this week. And they will probably get a desk. Hmmmmmm, I wonder if Border are planning to nick GT's studio? Perhaps they could cellotape some Border logos around to cover the many Granada logos or something? Yeah, I'm onto them.

My rebranding exercise is now complete - there will be no more changes. RB will know me as c@t, from my second life at NotBBC.
Granada were planning to relaunch - they had new trailers and everything - in a sort of Tyne Tees style.
But according to someone on another forum, the editor or another important chappy wasn't happy with it so they stayed as they are.
Tonight probably wont be touched until ITV 1 sort themselves out with some new idents - no doubt that'll happen soon.
I do remembering threatening to bomb Quay Street if the relaunch didn't take place - but it's already had enough bomb damage since the last time, so I'm not sure doing it again would be wise.
Incidentally, why is it that bomb warning are always phoned to ITV stations?
When the IRA bomb exploded in Manchester, it was Granada who were given the warning. It appears that it's always UTV who get the warnings when the IRA plant a bomb in N. Ireland.
Why is this? Is it just easier to get the phone numbers of ITV stations?
And 'm sure we've talked about this before but how often do ITV stations opt-out of scheduled stuff to cover 'breaking news'?
Granada did it for the Manchester bomb, IIRC. I'm pretty sure that Central have done it too.
Phil, you mock me now but you wait until the c@t empire becomes the next AOL Time Warner. Then you can kiss my feet, or anything else that comes to mind.

What a lovely thought.
Where else is there evidence of the c@t branding? Is there a logo?
Anyway, yes, I remember Granada having a news bulletin on a Saturday morning during a break of some kids' programme for the bomb, with So Rahman presenting I believe. It took ITV until the next break to report it to the rest of the regions.
RB, how do you know about Lookaround? Do you work for them?

The c@t Empire is very much in development, but you wait...
I've been speaking to the lawyers again, they've suggested that I start a poster campaign - like that BBC Online thingummyjig.
Coming soon to a home/school/porn cinema near you.
I've just realised, that sounded very much like one of the Labour Party Election Broadcasts from the previous election. How nice.
If RB is the same RB in La NotBeeb forum, and not a clone, then he's far too good to be working for Border.
He's one of these clever newspaper journalistic types. Clever man that he is.
