Firstly how did this come out of nowhere? Lets see if if can beat 8 idents for ITVBe, Hopeful I'll get to see it in the flesh later this afternoon.

I didn't really like the look of the old idents, although these aren't spectacular these suit the channel a damn sight better and seems to fit in with the refocus of the xhann, especially when Family Guy arrives later in the year. From the promo video uploaded it seems like they're trying to be like E4 with the bumpers and the like. Certainly interesting to see how it'll pan out.

Not great but an improvement certainly .

Yeah, the "omos" are a blatant copy of what E4 have been doing with their "e-stings". So, they've seen what their rivals are doing, copying it and hoping that will work out fine for them?

Also, if the idents have been filmed many times to create many different possible variations, how many are they realistically going to use on screen? That, the "yoof" voice-over and the blatant rip-off of E4 just makes it seem like desperation more than anything.

Hell, ITV 2 has an established brand. If they wanted a channel that looked and operated the way they have changed ITV 2 to, why not make ITV Be that channel and save them the hassle of basically swapping two channels around but keeping the name to confuse people.

So the ident is a rip off from the 1994 Carlton TV montage idents? where you have 15 scenes and each colour at a different starting point. Swings and roundabouts.

Seems that they've done it as they're expecting a lot more viewers because they're getting family guy.
I actually like it a lot more, it's much less tackier

It looks "fresher" but I can't until I see it in action on screen. They are probably still making what I consider to be their biggest annoyance - CAs with unbearable voices.

Yoof formats seem to equal annoying CA's. Jen Long on BBC Three had to be the worst of the lot.

There was a CA on e4 a few weeks back that sounded elderly, unconfident and tired. Andrew Hayden-Smith's brushed off Geordie accent grates on ITV2. As for Jen Long, since she left BBC3, they have some imitation of her that is ten times worse.

I don't think anyone can be as Mockney as Jen Long was on Three despite being Welsh!

I like Andrew Hayden-Smith, but his voice-over is better suited to ITV4/Dave/Quest.

Not much of a fan really - thought the old ITV2 was probably the best implementation of the 2013 brand so a shame to see it ditched so soon. They did the same with the 2006 revamp too - it was absolutely fine but because they're supposed to be young, hip and trendy they ditch it without much thought before it's time is up really.

I like that the DOG has moved a bit more into the corner, probably to do with the SD feed now being a downscale of the HD feed rather than a separate stream. I wonder why they haven't done the same for ITV 3 and 4. ITV Be's DOG is nice and in the corner too. ITV 3 and 4 now look left out with their out of alignment DOGs.
