I still think the name "Gold" is out of place considering it's a channel for British comedy, not the "golden" archive channel it used to be.

Touché, but considering they insisted on being "Go On Laugh Daily", I don't think "comedy gold" was their intention.

It's arguably one of the more memorable cable/satellite channel names, so you can see why they'd want to keep that, even if they have messed up by dropping the 'UK'. I'm sure most people, if you asked them, would know what UK Gold is even if they don't have it.

I haven't watched the channel since it was UKTV Gold. But I guess this is in time for the Monty Python Live show
