New Look Five?

Talking of Five US, isn't about time they replaced those behind the scenes bits with Russell Kane in that appear between shows (sorry, I'm not as up with technical names for promos like that as most people on here). They've been on since launch and seem to be on 500 times a day. If I had a penny for everytime I'd seen the one where he pitches CSI: London, I'd be a millionaire!

Well at least we know where itv got the idea from.

Five News to get makeover for male audience

Seems strange after only a recent rebrand. I guess its so the titles can fit nicely with the new 'FIVE' brand.

I do like the idea you've come up with... very fresh.

Is there any reason why Five US will keep the same name? They changed Five Life to FIVER on the basis of what looks like a marketing whim. Perhaps they have something new lined up for Five US which hasn't been leaked yet.

From what I understand, Five Life wasn't performing as well as expected, hence the revamp. Five US has been doing okay, so I figure there was no need to change anything.

Five US works well as a name, 'Five Life' didn't.

Not only did it sound like 'Five Live' it also made it sound like a lifestyle wimmins channel.

I really like these ideas as well but I think Five are giving each of their channels or services their own identity so it won't have the same logo or font of the new Five logo.

Interesting how Five News will change but I bet it will be the same look with a different logo and font.

Yep - looks like they're still aiming the 5pm bulletin at the daytime audience they always have, but not doing a straight repeat of the same order at 7pm.

Instead Matt Barbet will single-head the 5pm, with a similar agenda to now, but at 7pm a less-daytime, more male show will be fronted by Isla Traquair, with an aim to make the shows look more different to each other (different lighting is mentioned)

There is also a suggestion that they will have regular experts on various subjects. (Sounds like another 7pm show to me...)

Hadn't realised the ratings for the 7pm were only around 400,000 (that is very low for a terrestrial channel at that time of day isn't it?)

I wonder what this means for Natasha when she comes back? Will she take over from Matt at 5pm, Isla at 7pm or both?
