I thought they always used just an extended generic ident before the news. Although as I don't watch Five News very much so I can't be certain.

A nice "but for now from all of us on Five, good morning" closedown-esque anno into the Casino programme last night. Don't know how long they've been doing it but nice to hear. Five should definitely get more credit for their presentation, the variety of idents is impressive.

That is correct, however this wasn't into the news, the Christmas ident was used before the news (as posted by Jonny on the previous page) and went out without the anouncer. The ident into the following programme was this (not one of the usual idents, and there's no music:

I did promise you something rather festive and jazzy didn't I! Looks rather good on screen, and I too agree that FIVE deserve more credit for their presentation.

Similar on FiveUSA - now airing last year's FiveUS Christmas ident with an obvious tweak...

Put Five on for the Michael Jackson documentary and there is a slide with some up tempo music playing saying "The scheduled programme is not available on Freesat".

I'm watching on Virgin Media Shocked

Anyone else get this ?

Edit : 9.15pm it came back. Weird.

I got that Michael Jackson slide on fully paid up Sky too. Seems to have come back though. What an odd thing to happen! Confused

Yeah I got this on Sky too when I flicked over to Five. Assumed it wouldn't go so cancelled the recording.
