New Look Five?

I wonder then if Sky will break with tradition and not nick it after a couple of years. It of course it survives past episode 8 - nothing can be taken for granted with US pilots, however promising they seem.

Slightly blurry new Five ident for Neighbours just spotted. Seems to be almost the same as the one used in the old look, with the camera panning round Ramsay St and ending on a topiary Five logo. Didn't look quite right - could tell the new logo had just been tacked on at the end!

That was my first thought as well.

Expect a very upbeat, swinging and festive effort from FIVE this year for an ident!

It seems as if Five have definitely stopped showing their original live action idents - at least I haven't seen one for weeks. It's always either one of their programme specific ones or an animated one.

Another new ident has appeared today, which features more than one show - Justin Lee Collins, FlashForward and something else... Could this be the new direction for Five's general idents?

I have to say it's nice to see something different and pioneering from one of the terrestrial channels. These idents are a bit like a more modern take on ITV's celebrity ident concept, using their shows as part of the channel brand. It certainly makes the channel feel different from its competitors, and generally looks great.
