I know the rules on advertising have changed but come on...., Fiver I think have taken it one step too far.
Neighbours on fiver starts late now has 2 commercial breaks of approx 3-4 mins in length and finishes late (I am presuming the 2nd break now replaces the break inbetween programmes).
If they are intending to do it this way, the please let the programme start on time - sick of now missing the first couple of minutes of the second epiosde of Corrie on Granada.
Going for Gold is an absolute shambles.... Why have they now brought in Alex Kramer as well as John? And why do they insist on reading out the question about a million times? And that incessant background music... Awful, awful programme!
In answer to 'benjy', Going For Gold is the only decent programme Five has.
I admit the many times one viewers' question is repeated can be annoying. I think it should be done so whomever reads a question out, it is only done once. And if viewers missed the question, tough. I do suppose the presenter has to fill in the time some way or other but if they chop off about five minutes off the programme, at least, it would presumably give the presenter less time to repeat the question.
Overall, I like Going For Gold. If I was responsible to pick a person to ask the viewers' question, I would not have chosen Alex Kramer. However, she is not that bad.
And is Alex Kramer being groomed to take over John Suchet already? Personally, I can't see John lasting that long. I hope so, but I see him being a "one-series-only" man.
So: good programme, good music, and good presenter [and Alex is alright].
Finally, does anyone know what is being sung at the end of the show? You can't really work it out, due to the obviously-recorded clapping.

I think Alex Kramer has had elocution lessons since her days on the quiz channels. She doesn't seem to shout so much on Going for Gold.
I expect we'll get Christmas idents. It would be the first Christmas without if not, but then Channel 4 used to and ITV don't really bother these days either.
It will be interesting what the Five Christmas idents are like if they happen as they've been pretty good over the last few years plus how they will fit with the themes they have with the current idents.
Read on Brand Republic that Five US will be revamped in January and I assuming that this will include content changes as well as a new on and off look as they held off revamping it back in October when Five and Fiver rebranded.
