The content bursts are a great idea, I like the Milkshake one but The Wright Stuff one is a bit poor though. Will be interesting if other Five shows like CSI or House have content bursts.

BTW, don't BBC Two have similar kind of content burst with Bruce Parry, Valentine Warner or the cast of Heroes looking into a 2.

Five to launch kids channel

Basically Milkshake is going to get it's own channel sometime in 2009, with some stuff for older Kids, ie maybe a return of the shake! brand that was ditched a couple of years ago.

It says it'll be on DTT, but I can't see it being launched on a new channel, maybe some daytime space on Five US or Fiver maybe sacrificed.

I'd say with pre-school kids, it's probably stronger than CITV. Probably not as well known as Nick Jr or Playhouse Disney, though.

Five do lease out space to TUTV, and the linear channels are being (or should be) discontinued soon, so one wonders if that could happen.

According to Simon, a chunk of TUTVA3; UKTV Style and G.O.L.D. could be sacrificed, and Teacher's TV moved, for a slot to be made available on Mux A.

Well I do find myself saying it alot more than the other networks... especially in McDonalds.

Looks as though there's another management shake-up at Five, the channel's director of programmes Ben Gale is leaving after six months in the job, to be replaced by Sky's Richard Woolfe (according to Digital Spy):

Richard Woolfe quits Sky for Five

Has the Five DOG been altered slightly? It looks as if the bottom of the circle has been faded out and the background is no longer a shade darker.

It's definitely been modified to, as you say, remove the background colour. Not sure why they've faded the bottom of the circle out Confused.

The new DOG also has the added bonus of being invisible on light backgrounds:

Although the DOG seems to have been made less instrusive, the bottom of the circle on the logo is still there. I think it just depends on the background as to whether it's visible.

To be fair to Five this DOG wasn't as intrusive as most upon launch anyway.
