Lovely graphical ident used into the News there. Basically a long version of the breakflashes.
The Five News titles have been updated nicely - the 'swirls' forming the actual logo itself at the end.
The perspex logos in the studio have also been updated, this time with just the Five logo.
Agree, that was a nice simple ident into the news and the amended titles look quite good too.
I just saw an advert before five news for Going for Gold with the original logo and theme tune in the background.
I saw that this morning before The Wright Stuff, there are 2 versions, one of them saying which Gameshow had these rounds? Although I thought the music sounded different, it appears to be the same, which is a good thing. I doubt Hans Zimmer is complaining..
Could these graphical idents be for serious programmes and announcements?
I really like them, there subtle, which contrast the wacky and wonderful usual idents.
I quite like the credit squeeze, better than BBC and ITV, but not as good as Sky1's though.
The graphical idents look far better than the others.
One thing though which annoys me now about Five - most nights now they have programming at 9pm/10pm/11pm, they have no news update after 9pm. However, if they show a film, they insist on putting one in half way through - which seems an unnecessary annoyance.

Hopefully, using the launch promo as a basis, there's the potential for a lot of these graphic-only idents - and some could be really good.
