See, this is why the whole idea of 'ratings' on a minority channel like Challenge (especially Challenge +1) means sod all, because I really refuse to believe that 20,000 people were watching an obscure low-budget Sky One gameshow made in 2002 at 2:30 in the afternoon.
More likely that four or five people left the TV on after Blockbusters for a few minutes and it's been rounded up into a so-called "approximate" figure.

You'd be surprised how many people watch Dirty Money when it's on at 4 in the morning.

The only fault *I* could see was them showing the new episodes of Gladiators.
Gladiators [Revival] is currently on Challenge, complete with the permanent on-screen caption "We apologise for this temporary fault.".
The only fault I can see is the presence of said caption...

We need more data. What happened during the breaks(s)? What happened on Challenge[TV] +1? Were the subtitles and AD working? What were you doing up so early?

The caption faded off, then faded back on after the break had finished.
I thought about checking, but decided it wasn't worth it. Gladiators [Revival] isn't really worth a second watch.
The subtitles were, I didn't think to check AD (it's a bit of a faff enabling it on a V+ box).
Late, you mean? There was a rare screening of "TV's ruthless and compelling quiz", "Stakeout", at 0530 on Challenge[TV]. I had just finished watching the +1 screening.

**WARNING*** Tonight's Fun House is the one with pretty crazy audio issues. It shouldn't be too distracting as it happens sporadically but just to put it out there so you know what to expect!

This WAS interesting. It sounds like every time Pat Sharpe mentions the weekend it is dubbed with him saying something not weekend related.
For example, just as they entered the Fun House itself he says "Welcome to the weekend" but he also says "Welcome to the prize run" at the same time. It is the "prize run" line that is subtitled. Something similar happens at the start of the Fun Cart Grand Prix.
I wonder if they didn't know when the episode would air when it was recorded or perhaps the episode was produced with two audio tracks, a weekend version and a non-weekend version. They could then choose to show it with either sound track depending on when it was being broadcast. Somehow the episode has ended up with both sound tracks merged in to one.
It was nice of Challenge[TV] to point it out on Facebook. I don't always watch Fun House so I could have missed this. I don't think they mentioned anything on air though.
EDIT: Just caught the start of this episode again on Challenge[TV]+1. It turns out that the CA DID mention the audio issues.
"Welcome to the Fun House weekend" became "Welcome to the Fun House tea time".
EDIT: It turns out that this episode should actually have been broadcast in mono. The right channel contains the original audio and the left channel contains the non-weekend mentioning dub. It is amazing that no one at Challenge[TV] spotted this.

Actually if you were paying attention the issues highlighted went beyond the spoken word, as portions of the music beds zoned in and out as well throughout the episode.
And also while we're on the subject I don't think your writing snotty comments like the one I've seen you put on Challenge's Facebook feed is going to do you any favours.
