Why don't they show the 80s version, the 90s has been repeated far too much.
Most likely down to the condition they're in. Not a lot of episodes from the 80s survived, IIRC?
The episode of play your cards right on challenge now, it sounds like it's the first series of the 90's revival?

Don't those sort of things usually go at the end of a show, not during the break?

I'm quite looking forward to this. I'm not sure if bingo on television works but this sounds interesting.
In other news, Challenge [TV] are not showing Channel 5's Fort Boyard
I wonder why Channel 5 would care about this? They are unlikely to show it again themselves. Could it be that Channel 5 just weren't selling it for what Challenge[TV] were offering for it?

Lots of you were asking for Fort Boyard (the channel 5 years) and we pursued is as we though it would be great, sadly CH5 aren't selling it so that's one show that won't be coming to Challenge - at least in the short term!

Would the broadcaster retain the rights after all this time?

I'd be surprised to learn that 5C controlled the rights to that series at all; I'd have thought Fremantle controlled it - the episodes are all listed on their archive sales website: http://www.fremantlearchivesales.com/footage_details.aspx?ID=107431&FremantleSource=2
Challenge clearly have no issue dealing with Fremantle as many of their recent acquisitions have come from them.
There doesn't appear to be any news on Treasure Hunt (which was just as requested I'd say), so no chance of TSR or TSC (before she became IPC).

Don't forget the TSP (with TPM) series. I'd say we are more likely to see the original rather than the remake, which is a shame as the remake wasn't terrible by any means and I would hate for it to be locked away and never shown again. The only real mistake they made was setting it in other countries. If it had been set in the UK, I think it would have been much better.

Well Granada provided an "interactive" 90s version of bingo in the form of Shane Richie and "Lucky Numbers" which was basically Bob's Full House in all but name - you could even get a bingo card in The Sun so that you could play along.
So there must have been some appeal. After all, who would have thought answering 15 multiple choice questions would make interesting telly?

Not me.
In a reply to TV Forum's very own Paul Akinbola, Challenge [TV] have said they are not progressing with Treasure Hunt at the moment.

More than you'd think apparently...
The concept of "Bingo on the telly" was rehashed again in the form of "The Biggest Game in Town" in 2001 which ran for 96 episodes. Again, pretty much a remake of Bob's Full House but done live.
Bingo TV was later rehashed (again) during the Interactive TV era under the "Bingo On The Box" name. Which apparently still broadcasts on Sky somewhere.

Don't forget about Bingo Night Live, which was found late night on ITV 1 a while back!
