Not a great start for Play your Cards Right. They started showing it with massive black bars at the side.
This happened on one episode of Bullseye too. In that case it was because the episode was supplied as a 16:9 picture with black bars at the side, Challenge then added their own bars and everything became too thin.
Seems that someone noticed and corrected it a few minutes in this time, it has left the picture looking quite soft though.

Looks like Anne Widdecombe's Cleverdicks show she did for Sky Atlantic will be starting a repeat run on Challenge next month, followed by Celebrity Blockbusters

Is this the 'Old' or ''All New' Blockbusters? Was there ever a 'Celebrity' version of the old one?

All New. There was never a celebrity special in the Holness/Aspel/Tarbuck eras.

I was obsessed with Friends Like These when I was a kid but god, this is just awful. The most mundane challenges like throwing a hoop over a pole and drawing a shape on a screen (albeit back to front) with the most dated music imaginable. And Ant and Dec really weren't as polished as presenters as they are now though I guess this wasn't too long after SMTV started.
Never been a fan of that voiceover guy who also does the lottery either.

Lottery? I think you mean JML's The Store.

I've no idea how many people are being confused here, but here's a list:

I've no idea how many people are being confused here, but here's a list:
-
Mitch Johnson - Voice of Live & Kicking, Friends Like These, JML The Store, etc.
-
Alan Dedicoat - Voice of the Balls for the National Lottery, Strictly Come Dancing, etc.
-
Mike Carson - JML's advert voice, LWT announcer, DJ at BBC Radio Oxford, been there, done that.

Mitch did do the lofty.
