I think I prefer Mr Babbage!
Is it just the Bob Monkhouse and Max Bygraves era they're showing at the moment? I'd like to see that colour board in use.

It was actually the last thing ever made by Central at Elstree before they moved out and Lenton Lane opened to replace it. Blockbusters' first series was filmed there as well.
However, it appears only Max Bygraves first series was made at Elstree with the second onwards being made at Lenton Lane.

Also, they had to remind Max several times about the prize one of the celebrities won yesterday.

I think it reached the point where they were 'reminding' Max unnecessarily. He looked visibly annoyed at one point when they sounded the siren four times, when it was patently obvious he'd heard it the second time (the first being masked by them playing out the siren at the same time as the music jingle -- a common thing and, to be honest, the fault of William G Stewart as the director really rather than Max).

It not like prizes changed it was only ¢G100 every single time. I think Max and viewer are smart enough to know there won some more money.

Is that the same William G Stewart of Fifteen to One?

It's been reported on the Digital Spy forums that Challenge (and Pick TV) is currently free to air on digital satellite.
Whether this is deliberate is not yet known.

Yep, just tried it and it is FTA. I wouldn't have been surprised if it was made FTV for Freesat from Sky customers, but FTA is a bold move.
