Why go back as far as the 4th series but not all the way back to the beginning? Same with Bullseye I guess?
Are the earlier series not available? Would they cost more as they'd require cleaning up?
Did they not scrap the first episode of Bullseye because "it was really awful"? I'd pay good money to see the first episode of Bullseye.
First series still exsits of bullsye and family fortunes. To be honset first two serices of bully are different and not like s3/4.

I really can't see ATV/Central ditching the entire first series of a popular programme because of quality reasons. After all, it can't be *that* bad -- it was deemed good enough to warrant a second series for a start.
Far more likely is technical quality -- a lot of ATV masters were badly kept. Had this changed by 1980?

Also S1 bullseye turns up on I love 81 or tv years 81 etc so there do the runs..
Jim Bowen uses the phrase "I have heard" while speaking with Bobby George later in the episode. The audience laugh but without seeing the outtake it is difficult to work out what they are laughing at.
The second episode of Bullseye is very thin on both Sky and Freeview. The black bars at the side of the picture are double the width they should be. The DOG is in the correct position for a 4:3 programme though.

Are Challenge showing Take Your Pick complete with the cue dots? Because I've seen clips of it on the trailer.
They have done, though it's strange how it works because the cue dot vanishes prior to the credits starting and doesn't appear throughout the sequence.
Strike it Lucky, Treasure Hunt, Challenge Anneka, All Clued Up and Telly Addicts.
Any reason why these never seem to get re-runs on Challenge these days? They always used to!
If by 'always' you mean 'up to about 10 years ago', you're right.
In the latter Flextech years the channel pretty much stopped acquiring pre-Millionaire content; the self-styled 'guru' on the old Challenge forums said that the aim was to make the channel feel fresher. This was (thankfully) reversed pretty quickly by Sky, who seem to be taking the channel in an increasingly retro direction.

If anything I think that Sky have got the balance right, they have a good mix of brilliant retro programmes and a mix of modern shows like Pointless, some Sky content and WWTBAM. I find myself watching Challenge quite a lot these days if anything the most since the late 1990s.

By 'retro direction' I meant more the generic 80s computer graphic style-logo, and the fact they're buying a lot more old content in than new. I totally agree though, the balance is perfect for me (once you subtract DoND and TNA, at least).
