The Challenge [TV] Facebook page is currently buzzing with talk of George Best's appearance on Bullseye. Although this hasn't been shown by Challenge [TV] yet, at least not it's recent incarnation, it is an episode they will be showing in the next few weeks or months.

According to various online sources, George Best was a little tipsy during his appearance and managed the lowest score ever. Some even say he missed the board completely, although as he would have had 9 darts this is a little hard to believe. Does anyone remember seeing this episode before? Is this another one of those clips that was broadcast with little fanfare during the 80s but once shown again in the internet age will be all over YouTube like Catchphrase's snake charmer and Family Fortunes' turkey?

Series 4 of Bullseye starts tonight (20:30), Challenge Anneka MAY be coming soon and Interceptor is on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Challenge [TV] is currently quite good.

Its nice to see Challenge is widening its programme line up and is getting more viewers: It would still be nice if there would get a full run of 321 from S1. Im enjoying pointless, which is getting the viewers in from the +1 channel.

Wrexham is known for being able to pick up Granada, HTV Wales and Central.

Is known or was known? Is it still the case after DSO?

It certainly is, because my parents' PVR keeps on deciding it's in the HTV region so keeps on retuning itself from Granada, and the telly in my old bedroom has about a thousand channels from Winter Hill, Moel-y-Parc and The Wrekin. What's particularly annoying is that the Wales channels are on a lower frequency than the North West channels, my parents' preference, so they always come up first. They're all of equal quality too.

Not wishing to divert this topic but I think in Peterborough you can get three different regions, and in Buckinghamshire, you can get four. Or at least, someone I know said they used to be able to get Central, Anglia, Thames and TVS at varying levels of quality.

I don't believe Northampton around it were able to pick up Central, Northampton being part of Central would have made more since than Anglia.

Series 4 of Bullseye is more like the Bullseye we know from later years. The studio will change again of course but the format of the programme seems to be all there and the music is the well known version. Bully now moos when the contestants run out of time too. I imagine it was this series when he invested in a dictionary too, we may find out tomorrow as spelling was not a subject that was hit in this first episode. Tony Green's "In three" has not yet become as exaggerated as it will do.

I did notice a couple of things worth pointing out, when Bowen introduces Jocky Wilson and the camera moves towards Wilson, I'm sure we get to see Bowen partaking in the act of belming. Have a look at Challenge+1 if you didn't record the show. I don't know if that would be allowed nowadays. We also get to see a very quick glimpse of Tony Green in this episode. He is wearing big headphones, he must think he is some kind of record producer.

I thought the last episode of Original Blockbusters was going out today? 9am episode was running to order, but the 9.30 has gone back quite a few....

I don't remember them ever broadcasting the last episode of the original blockbusters. Did Challenge get hold of the other 108ep? from S10?

I remember watching the original run of Blockbusters on Challenge a while back waiting for the last episode, and it never came round.

They've only aired less than half of the series - there was some conjecture that they would acquire the rest but it didn't happen. Would have been nice if they could have done it to feed in to the new series but they've spent a crazy amount of money already so cant complain.
