Why was it called Challenge TV in the first place? Were they planning on launching Challenge Radio, Challenge Web, Challenge Amusement Park, Challenge Sports News .com TV HD... You get the drift.

It isn't the case for Challenge [TV] but I think lots of channels launched around the same time as the .tv TLD was popular and seemed like a trendy thing to have. Bid-up.tv, Whereitsat.tv, avago.tv, gobarkingmad.tv, auctionworld.tv and even gm.tv are a few that I remember.

Well spotted. I wouldn't really want to meet Velvet Sky, I would be far too shy but I wouldn't mind one of those t-shirts. I might have entered the competition if I knew the winner would get a bag/t-shirt too. I could have always stood Ms. Sky up or faked a serious illness.

For a t-shirt?

No, for a Challenge t-shirt and bag! Maybe I could have some how obtained two of each and given one set to Velvet Sky to make up for my ungentlemanly conduct. Still, it's too late now. I've missed my chance. Next competition, I am definitely entering though.

Seriously though, this would have been right up my street as I collect t-shirts. I have two so far.

Off by a good few years there, might have been the case had it launched some three years later but no, it's the old 90's naming terminology wearing off as stated.

I note the Avago shirt there, saying nothing. You know who else collects t-shirts? Tumbly. Just drawing a parallel. Also, two does not constitute a collection.

Probably just a co-incidence but this morning at 9am Challenge had a repeat of their version of Fort Boyard on at the same time as Fort Boyard Ultimate Challenge on ITV1/CITV

Challenge[TV] have uploaded some more wrestling videos. Don't worry though, these videos contain no actual wrestling or wrestlers.

#1

This video shows a rather chesty lady who may or may not be a Challenge employee and may or may not be Irish. She is talking to Preston who is a "superfan" and self proclaimed ultimate fan. He doesn't appear to be able to hear and/or understand the lady as she clearly asks him several questions and he answers none of them (even with the help of an edit at 0:30). He has come up with some rather clever slogans though, I'm sure Challenge's marketing department will be using these very soon.

"Hogan Hogan Hogan"
"This is the best wrestling company. Period!"
"This is wrestling, this is wrestling"
"Challenge TV: Where the wrestling matters"

#2

The lady is now speaking to a man from London with an unusual name. So far, he and his wife/girlfriend have met Matt Morgan, Crimson, Velvet [Sky] and Hulk Hogan. He is looking forward to tonight.

#3

No in-vision presenter this time, but we do get to see two muscle men talking about Hulk Hogan being their hero. They call him the Elvis Presley or Michael Jordan of the wresting world they then add "The God of wrestling". They really like him. I think they are Americans.

#4

This time we get a good look at the Challenge [TV] foam hands that have been spotted in the background of the previous videos. These guys have got theirs signed by [Hulk] Hogan. One guy's daughter wanted to meet Madison Rayne but "she is not here". It is unclear if it is the daughter or Madison Rayne that is not there. Neither of them are featured in the video. They have been waiting a year for this night and they have made it a good one. "Challenge: The UK home of TNA" is their parting gift to the marketing department but I think Challenge have already used this.

It's a shame that Big Break is on so late. Why can't Challenge move it into an earlier time slot?

its to allow it to be Fully broadcast, which needs a 40min slot. or we can have 6-8mins somehow cut out of it.

Of course there is no real reason why a 40 minute slot couldn't be found in prime time.

Of course there could of course so two episodes back to back: in a 90min slot. like in the good old days

I actually think Big Break would benefit from having 8 mins cut from it. Jim's monologues and the contestant interviews could easily be cut down without affecting the overall show.

I love the programme but the less of him the better.

Win, Lose or Draw Late starts next Saturday at 11:20. I'm not sure why it has to be SO late though.

Whose? Tarbuck, Baker or Mills? If it was Tarbuck, the most recent presenter, that was a separate "Late" version which I imagine may contain more risque humour etc.
