Seriously - their Christmas Day schedule is just Auntie's Bloomers?! Might as well close the whole thing down.

To be fair that would probably do quite well (relatively speaking), it's the kind of programme people will put on for background noise on Christmas day, and lets face it most channels might as well just close down on Christmas day.

As for why Aunties Bloomers is on a gameshow channel, I think that stems from the days of the old Challenge forum when people used to request odd programmes and for some reason they used to listen.
:-(
A former member
Beadles about was also request a good number times, challenge is much more than gameshow channel.

You've uploaded that video wrong David, it has AD on it.

I'm not sure how true that is. People requested loads of different programmes on the old forum and sometimes Challenge would obtain the rights to one of those programmes. I don't think the two events were linked. It was just a coincidence.

Is AD so wrong? I wanted it to tell me "Rosie is watching episode #8F142 of Bullseye, the TV is displaying the 4:3 image stretched to 16:9" but alas it didn't describe the scene in nearly as much detail as I would have liked.

I'd prefer to listen to the dialogue clean.

A new strand starts on Saturday, it is called Quiz Show Decades and will see old shows on Saturday and new shows on Sunday. It might be the other way around. I think Big Break is the only programme that has been added to the schedule though, it is on Saturday so I'm still none the wiser about which day is which. Is Big Break a new or an old programme?

It was almost Christmas on Deal or no Deal today. A very dignified occasion it was too, just a couple of Christmas trees and some ivy. No one got dress up as a Christmas pudding and there was no Banker's Christmas sack or anything like that. I don't watch Deal or no Deal on Challenge, but I'd like to watch when special events take place. Was Deal or no Deal shown on Christmas day in it's first year? When is this episode due on Challenge?

EDIT: Holness called someone a w**ker in Blockbusters this evening.

Big Break used to air a few years ago, but it was only the first series and half of the second. It looped until Challenge dropped it. I've missed watching that, so I'm looking forward to it.

It is series 1 again... http://www.challenge.co.uk/news/cult-classics-vs-modern-masters.html although Challenge have obviously forgotten they have shown it before.

Here is Bob Holness calling a contestant a w**ker. This episode was shown yesterday. Viewers with a lot of overscan on their TV may never have seen this before.

Sadly, the AD person didn't say "Grey-haired Bob makes a rude gesture and mouths an obscenity while Simon takes his place on the hot spot."

Are you sure he didn't just have a sore wrist where he was leaning on the set?

Come off it David. That is clearly not the gesture of insinuating the contestant is a w**ker. It's quite blatant it's an "ow, that hurt" type of reaction to something he's probably inadvertedly hit on the desk. A lamp of some sort, perhaps so he can see the questions to ask, assuming those Gold Run questions were on a card?

Looks more like a signal to those in the gallery to me.

Unless there was a very short contestant hiding under Bob's podium.
