The gate takes about 25 seconds to close, and it should be fully closed by the end of the time, no?
They started closing the gate with about 55 seconds left to go - it was closed with just over 30 seconds left to go!?

In an unrelated post - how come on Challenge's Fort Boyard - they close the Treasure Room gate sometimes at least 30 seconds or more before the actual time has run out? Tonight, they had 40 seconds left or so in which to collect treasure but they had closed the gate and the clock timer was quickly removed from the screen?? Thus only making £690 or so? Isn't this unfair? Or was this just an excuse to save money in terms of production costs etc?

The graphics are usually wrong in every episode to some degree, the 40min timer varies for a start from where it probably should be and tower cutaways badly set up if one is paying attention to what's going on.
Of course it's entirely plausible that since they ended up at the treasure room in excess of a minute to go which is very OTT compared to other episodes from the series, the decision was taken to chop a portion out of the gold run as opposed to chop a portion out of somewhere else, hence forgetting to update the graphic in the process.

It's annoying isn't it? It's also showing on Pick TV during the daytime too.
I really wish Churchill had produced more than one sponsorship sting. So painfully repetitive.

At least Tumble Tower enjoys doing it!

Challenge are now claiming there only have 72 episodes of Blockbusters which there have already broadcast twice, and have no further new episodes..... That great!

No, on this occasion the gate started to descend with about 1 minute left on the clock, with about 40 seconds left when they were all out and the clock disappeared.
It does seem unfair.

Alas it's the 1986 and 1987 series again! Maybe if there got even 84/85 it would be more interesting,

If Challenge ever went back to live continuity, Twitter could come in handy. They could read out live tweets from the questions they ask. Right now they asked "Complete the sentence: My favourite show on challenge is...." and read them out live during menu's or like itv2 do with the only way is essex.

Viewers tweets are rarely interesting though.
This is a genuine example.
