Earlier in the day, the CA said it would be Fort Boyard from the very start (series 1), and then just before it started, a similar announcement was made. I thought this can't be right, as the EPG shows it is Series 5. Thenn lo and behold...it was Series 5 - so no surprise there then Rolling Eyes . Good to see it back though.

The announcement just before even name checked Melinda Messenger and Leslie Grantham which suggests that there is no communication whatsoever with the people running the channel and whoever is putting together the continuity.

In other news, they played out the 'End of Part One' graphics at the start of the episode of Bullseye that was on at 4pm. Not a playout error by Challenge but it seems that someone wrote to Central about the titles. I just turned over and caught the end. Did anyone see it and/or know what happened?

Somebody wrote in and commented that Bully must be ambidextrous as he throws with is right hand but is seen chalking with his left.

I guess that's what people did before TV Forum. I'm glad we have this forum as otherwise I might be the kind of person who writes to Jim Bowen.

Not sure what all the fuss was about, I'm sure Bully isn't the only "person" who throws with one arm and writes with the hand on the other arm. I write with my right and throw with my left.

Anyway I notice current Bullseye episodes (current weekend evening showings) have reached the era of the animated endcap. Still looks as fresh today as it did in 1988. Should never have destroyed that cake logo Central had.

In another bad example of continuity tonight by Challenge - again, before Fort Boyard, the CA announced something along the lines of "Bullseye at 8pm, then Catchphrase at 9pm followed by Millionaire at 10pm" whereas the actual slide (which was correct) said "Pointless at 8pm, Millionaire at 9pm and World's Strongest Man at 10pm".

Rolling Eyes

So couldn't they just read it off the slide in front of them on the screen what was coming up, instead of announcing 3 completely incorrect programmes and times??

Still, Fort Boyard was good tonight, they didn't get any gold at all! Very Happy

Well no because it isn't in front of them when they make the announcements. I imagine they record a whole bunch in one go which might explain whey they don't always tally up.

The 'press red' icon has changed today. It is now purple.

For some reason the press red application now has the old Challenge logo again. This was changed to the new one at the same time as the channel changed it's logo, they must be broadcasting an old version for some reason.

It is now showing the new logo again. That means they have been broadcasting the wrong logo for at least 17 days.

I was watching Winning Lines on Challenge the other day. Viewers who aren't aware that it used to be National Lottery: Winning Lines will be left wondering what is going on. The cuts are fast and furious, especially the intro and the goodbye

It's pretty awful isn't it? Trying to wedge the whole thing into a commercial TV half hour I.e. 23 mins, it's like a clip show.

It's okay once it gets going. I don't know why they bother with the closing 3 seconds, frankly.

The AD track on the episode of The Crystal Maze showing now contains a load of scratchy noises.
