That's on all the Finders Keepers episodes made by STV. Same company on the TVS episodes as well.

Didnt there own the format?

Possibly, as Finders Keepers was originally a Nickelodeon production, but the UK show only used the "trashing the room" portion of the original US format. That also gave cash prizes away, which was (and still is, presumably) a big no-no over here, hence spot prizes.

A while back someone here mentioned about the big video recorders on the back of the Fun Karts in Fun House- because of that I've now noticed that the player on Finders Keepers that's wearing the camera has a square back!

Finders Keepers had the cameras on the side of the helmet, but when that show finished they put cameras on the contestants in Fun House during the final round around the house, and they put these on TOP of the helmets! I wish they''d have done that during Finders Keepers as well but there we go.
I always presumed they did the on-contestant cameras the way they did on both shows as they may not have had an effective/cheap/practical way of transmitting the signals wireless, so it may have been cheaper to simply stick them in a bag, set to record and edit its footage into the programme later. Of course these days it can done totally wireless on a much larger scale (see Formula 1 for example) and no doubt larger budget.

Until digital wireless systems came about, using wireless cameras indoors was tricky at best. Running around the inside of the finders keepers house and keeping a usable signal would have pretty much impossible.

You can even see the head switching noise at the bottom of the screen which shows it must have been a lower band format (maybe Video 8 or Hi8 to keep the machines they had to carry small? A VHS machine would have been horribly bulky!).

It won't be VHS, that's not broadcast quality for a start - always highlighted to an extent when archive TISWAS clips get an airing for whatever reason, as all those came from domestic off-air recordings due to the fact ATV dumped pretty much the entire lot. It looks far far softer picture wise than the professional footage that surrounds it in that situation.
I've never seen Video8 but apparently the cameras were so small you could hold them in the palm of your hand, so if that is true it would be perfect to house the recording equipment for FK and FH.

Here's the clip (my PVR doesn't like 4:3 apparently) https://up.metropol247.co.uk/TVMan/Finders%20Keepers%20blooper.mp4
