That new branding looks weak. The current one sums up the channel perfectly and boasts some of the best idents around at the moment. A strong brand is suddenly gonna become diluted once again...
This.
This is a shame. The current set are great for the channel and would surely have held up for a while longer. The new logo is nowhere near as distinctive and the whole characters thing has the potential to become rather irritating.
I wonder if they will bother keeping the 'Late Zone' strand and if so, how the graphics will change.

***FANFARE*** From Monday 7th October viewers will see a brand new look and feel unveiled on Challenge. The re-fresh introduces a family of animated characters to Challenge, the home of contest, who will feature in both the on and off air look and feel.
Each lovable character is designed to complement the fun vibrant collection of programming on the channel, from physical contest to game shows, with a character designed to introduce every classic and original programme.
Buzzerhead never gets the answers right when he watches Challenge shows but enjoys classic series of Family Fortunes, Catchphrase and Supermarket Sweep. Tiny and Ellie can’t get enough of Challenges flagship physical shows, including TNA Impact Wrestling, Takeshi’s Castle, UK'S Strongest Man and Ninja Warrior. Cecil The Geek is always informative enjoying Eggheads and Cleverdicks, while Les Play and Kitty Prize are fanatical about great contest entertainment like Blockbusters, Bullseye and Who Wants to Be A Millionaire.
They are looking forward to the newly commissioned game show Timeline hosted by Brian Conley. Each character mirrors the wide breath of programming across the channel and each member of ‘The Challengers’ will appear before their favourite show in new channel idents.

If the Challenge [TV] Facebook page is anything to go by then they should have had a lovable character that hates wrestling, a lovable character who keeps asking when [Classic] Who Wants to be a Millionaire is on and a lovable character with unspecified mental health issues.
It seems weird that they've dropped the TV from Pick TV. My guess is that they still refer to it as Pick TV, which in a way is consistent with Challenge; but surely it would have made sense to give Challenge [TV] back the 'TV' part of their name?
Wouldn't be hugely surprised if a revamp or two down the line they evolve into Sky Pick and Sky Challenge.
Based on the logo alone I think the Challenge logo looks OK actually - but Pick looks awful.
I was browsing the Freesat site the other day and noticed a different logo for Challenge but didn't think anything of it until I seen the Facebook post by Challenge today.
