Just in case anyone wanted to know, I believe that the soundtrack is called 'In Full Effect' - although I can't remember the name of the group who performed it or who composed it - and I have been told!

CBBC Playbox will be broadcast from 0600 until 1900 on BBC Three (currently Choice) and the older childrens' channel (as yet unnamed - any ideas anybody?!) will broadcast from 0700-2000 on BBC Four (currently Knowledge). They're doing this to save on transponsder capacity and also they'll be able to put CBBC Playbox and the other unnamed channel with the other kids' channels on EPGs so that they can attract more viewers.

Has anyone got the 1991 CiTV logo without the word 'childrens' at the side, or the 1998 CiTV logo without the blue background?

And does anybody know if the original CiTV logo was used for the 5 years between 1983 and 1988?

Thanks Razz:

And does it mean BBC4 won't transmit until 6/7pm? I really like BBC Knowledge and watch it in the daytime. This is a real shame if it happens. Why can't they just keep CBBC on Choice and rebrand it and make another CBBC channel (for older kids) on another frequency (or whatever they're called)?

Or am I being a little stupid with these ideas?

PS: Where's this Broadcast magazine? Is it on the net or do you have to buy it?

Ta,
Mike
Following on from what Dave said, it's just to save on capacity. Besides, isn't BBC Knowledge just a 6hr loop of programming anyway? I think the working title for the new CBBC channel is 'CBBC B' - nice and catchy! I'm sure they'll be changing it Smile

Broadcast is on the net http://www.produxion.com/asp/nframe.asp but the magazine is much much better. You'll probably be able to get it from WH Smith but our college gets it delivered each week Smile

Cheers, Asa

BBC Knowledge is a 4/6 hour loop, yes, in daytime.

Programmes change at about 6pm. They don't get repeated again. New programmes are shown in a 4/6 hour loop. I'll miss the daytime programmes for the sake of Childrens BBC.

Why can't they just put the programmes on CBBC on Choice - that loops about every 3 hours! It would have a wider variety for the kids and save Knowledge space for us who enjoy watching informative programmes.

I thought it was going to be the other way round. I hope you're right though, I didn't like the idea of BBC THREE not starting until 8.00pm.

I think there should be only one children's channel anyway, what's the point in a channel for 6-12 year olds when they're supposed to be at school? I think the channel should show younger childrens shows from 6.00am-4.00pm, then older childrens programmes from 4.00-7.00pm. This would then allow BBC FOUR to broadcast all day, with perhaps some extra BBC World News bulletins.

Oh crikey... it's on the tip of my tongue... I know the group in question were a dance group who were signed to London Records, but the name escapes me. Something with '2' in the name, wasn't it?

Yes, that's right Jenny! You're very nearly there! It's really annoying me now - I'm using Google to try to find out!
DaveYorks
No, definitely not them!
