New look for the box

The box has moved over to a new song playout system and their logo seems to be three squares. Here are 2 screenshots i captured this morning:

Bimey - what an enormous 'logo'! And why's it so far down the screen? Some of those graphics can be a bit difficult to read, too.

I know what you mean. The logo position is advantageous for W/S televisions.

Does anyone know what the logo means? It doesnt say 'the box' to me, just some wierd little shapes.

Yeah I spotted that- after nearly making my eyes pop out my sockets by looking at the logo closely for ages. They could have made it more obvious.....

Hmm, quite original new logo! I liked the old logo, but this one is neat! (from what I can see on the forum, even though I have Sky Digi and watch The Box).

I have NTL Digi and watch the box. Apart from Crap Play UK its the only non-MTV Music channel.

Hmm I like the new logo, even if it's a little big...

What I really don't like is the new font they use. I was watching a video last night and when the name came up towards the end it was pretty difficult to read, particularly since the video in the background used clashing colours.

Also, can someone tell me the difference between The Box and Smash Hits TV?

Smash hits Tv isnt available to people like me on Digital cable.

The logos are like that so that widescreen tv's zoom in and fill the screen as it's not a widescreen channel, but has a lot of letterbox videos on. Even me who prefers 4:3 on non widescreen progs, admits to changing it for music channels, as the black bars are ridiculous!

I'd say The Box was more my thing then Smash Hits personally, but I normally zoom up between The Box, Kiss and Smash Hits.

How many people realise thayt there are very few true widescreen music videos? The mojority of them are shot in 4:3 with the bars added in post-production for effect.
