It looks as though BBC2 may be changing their evenings schedules from Monday 22nd September, although this may be temporary as I have heard that the BBC2 schedulers are searching for a replacement for The Simpsons when it moves to Channel 4 next year. The BBC2 evening schedule has been changed to:

Mon 22nd Sept
6.00pm Get a New Life: Documentary series. Repeat.
7.00pm Malcolm in the Middle.

Tues 23rd Sept
6.00pm Get a New Life. Repeat.
7.00pm TOTP2

Wed 24th Sept
6.00pm Get a New Life. Repeat.
7.00pm Malcolm in the Middle.

Thurs 25th Sept
6.00pm Get a New Life. Repeat.
7.00pm TOTP2.

Fri 26th Sept.
6.00pm Get a New Life. Repeat.
7.00pm Malcolm in the Middle.

If this schedule is be made permanent then I'm sure Star Trek fans will not be too pleased, or will Robot Wars fans. But it's good to see BBC2 making a change to their evening schedule after all these years.

So, when does the Simpsons finish on BBC2? Is it this year? I can't see why they can't drop the Simpsons until their contract expires.

Re: Robot Wars. The current Extreme is the last RW we'll see on BBC2 - as of the 7th Wars the show transfers to Five. It's not just Homer's lot that are leaving the channel of the year...

The Simpsons begins on Channel 4 next year, so I assume BBC2's contract is close to expiring.

Hopefully Fresh Prince of Bel Air will move as well - put Malcolm in the MIddle on instead.

Also, what is Get a New Life?

The BBC will still be able to show The Simpson's series, but only the ones up to where Channel4 took over the contract.

Don't think that's true as BBC2 are looking for a new 6pm show.

My understanding is that C4 will be able to screen repeat episodes from January 2004 and new episodes from January 2005. Could be wrong though.

According to Digiguide the simpsons is on BBC Two on Friday 16th Sept at 6.00pm - so it isn't the end just yet - probably just another test run for a series as in the past with Treasure Hunt and that poo with Jo Brand.

Though trusting Digiguide these days.....

But STEVE2003 said the new schedule will be put into effect from Monday the 22nd of September - The Simpsons is still on until then.

So have the simpsons been dropped alltogether, or just moved somewhere else?

And where does this leave Star Trek?

It certainly is, todays Broadcast has mentioned it in an interview with Jane Root.

In that case I must have meant the 26th. Especially since the 16th is a tuesday.
