Continuing the theme, CBBC just finished with Forever & a Day playing in the background! They really are going for it today aren't they?

Not really in so much as they've often finished CBBC with that music playing in the background.

Music Video was shown leading into this afternoons second helping of Neighbours.

Was never very fond of Music Video...Nothing noteworthy in the anno this time, then?

And at 6:00, here's the list of the first twelve hours of BBC1 dancer ident use today:

Capoeira (Breakfast)
Festival (To Buy or Not To Buy)
Salsa? (City Hospital)
Tai-Chi (News headlines)
Skateboarders (Homes Under the Hammer)
Tumbler (Car Booty)
Capoeira (News headlines)
Salsa (Cash in the Attic)
Acrobats (One O' Clock News)
Bollywood (Neighbours)
Tango (Doctors)
Tapdogs (Diagnosis Murder)
Skateboarders (News headlines)
Tumbler (CBBC)
Music Video (Neighbours)
Acrobats (Six O' Clock News)

Still need conformation that Salsa was shown before City Hospital on Network, as that's the only junction I didn't see...anyone?

I can confirm it was indeed Salsa (09:59). 18 seconds worth I think.

Someone should document every dancer ident shown on the last day, like we did for the 2s in 2001! If they're bored. Or something.

Still got that archived on my website (if anyone cares)!

Think I've still got the last evening of balloons on tape as well.

Been out all day, but I've got all of today's junctions on tape - and yes, Salsa was indeed used in City Hospital (Brian Blessed presenting that now?!?! Shocked )

On the subject of Haka, does anyone else know how long ago that was taken out of use? I haven't watched BBC1 enough to notice they don't use it any more!

Interestingly the music for the new BBC1 idents will be fine to use and Imran Hanif who composed the music will get a fee from the Performing Rights Society everytime they are played. Is this standard practice for music to most TV idents thathas been especially composed? I know the guy that did the Channel 4 music for the original '4' idents was paid everytime it was used.

No. Chances are he got a lump sum and a guarantee of more work from future idents.

Thanks, both of you. It'd really suck if we had a complete, verified list of every ident except one.

I think Capoeira will be the last one shown, in the same way Paint was the first and last shown of the old 2 idents. Or maybe Ballet, as an extra surprise.

I didn't know that Paint was the last old style '2' to be shown. Did they say anything about the last time it would be seen or was it just a normal bog standard closedown?

Something like (roughly) "Look your last, because the face of BBC TWO is changing as of tomorrow morning. To take us into the new world, an old, but well respected film [ was this said to also reflect the opinion of the 2's?] from director Robert Wise."

And what did BBC1 give us on Network? 'Through the night with BBC News 24.' That's more or less what they did, no big goodbye nothing!! Evil or Very Mad

Well tonight I'd like to see the continuity announcers dancing around a bonfire and chucking tapes of the dancer idents onto it!! Twisted Evil
