New look for BBC1

I know I've posted this before, and I know it's in this thread somewhere, and I can't be arsed looking, but when are the new idents going to take effect on Saturday?

Most of the guesses are for before Saturday Kitchen.

Well they say it's launching in the morning and considering there are only two morning junctions (10.00 and 11.30) then I thought it was certain the new look begins before Saturday Kitchen.

Isn't it a bit unusual for a full relaunch to take place on a Saturday? I thought usually things like this would happen at the beginning of the week on a Monday

Hasn't it always launched on Saturday? I remember the swirly cloudy globe launching at the start of Going Live with Philip Schofield & Sarah Green looking at it going, "Ain't it pretty!"...

The last one on a Monday was 1985 on BBC1 but that coincided with their new schedul for Monday to Friday at 7 (Wogan and EastEnders).

The new looks in 1991 and 1997 were on a Saturday and the first link of the day in the morning. The dancers launched on Good Friday probably because it was a holiday.

Also ITV's relaunches generally always start on a Monday, although ITV1 launched on a Saturday

I think ITV1's new idents are actually the weakesy of all the ITV channels and ITV3 are the best. It also reflects the quality of the channels in a subliminal way. ITV3 comes across as quite classy and is what ITV1 should be

But none of them make any sense, it's just people on film with a logo slapped across it. And Joe Punblic doesn't have a clue about their meaning even though the companies behind them are spouting some nonsense about it.

I remember watching an advert with a rollercoaster on it, the day before between new idents were used in 1997. It'll be interesting to see these new idents.

BBC One are really showing the worst of the dancing idents now (i.e the tango) - probably to make people appreciate the new ones more, clever.

I think they're all crap to be honest and I'm not rushing to try and record them before they go which is very unusual for me. The idents for channels in this country have been so poor for the last few years that I lost interest. Crappy UK Gold and ITV idents amongst others really underwhelmed.

It was 'five' that got me interested again then the glorious '4' idents and now these for BBC One. This is the first time in a longtime that I've looked forward to an ident launch.

I've noticed this too over the past week...maybe it is a trick by "BBC one" to make us appreciate the new idents more when they arrive on Saturday like you suggest. This seems sad though as I for one would like a final chance to see great idents like "skateboarders" and "Capoeira"...and also "Festival" and "Tumbler" aswell in my case .
