My EPG says that Breakfast starts at 6am afer BBC N24 from 1.10am. Won't the new idents start at 6, just before breakfast (then they could do an in-depth report about the relaunch)?

I think they already did a piece on the relaunch earlier in the week, so I'd doubt they'd do so again. You never know though. And I think most times News 24 leads straight into Breakfast after the weather and countdown, but I would set the video for that time just in case.

Whilst I love these new ones, it does pose the dilemma of looking completely out of character in comparison to all the other channels idents. All the other channels have the same basic logo, so unless we can see a rebrand from a couple of the others, BBC1 is going to be, as it were, "The Odd One Out". And to be honest, they could all do with one. BBC Two has been sending that poor little number 2 whizzing around the screen for 5 years now, BBC Three have kept the same look since the beginning, and as for BBC Four...well actually they rebranded just last year, BBC Parliament I haven't a clue about as I never watch it, and last but not least BBC News 24 which doesn't een have idents, but at least it still has a square logo like all the others. And as for CBBC and Cbeebies, well they'ye always been different but that is understandable considering they are for the kids. But still my point is lovely as this new look is, it means both the idents and logo don't fit into the BBC's current "Square Logo, Ident Logo In Corner" policy, making it look rather odd in comparison. Do comment as that is the largest post I've ever made!

Yeah bbc fours are easy to alter. I think BBC THREE is due a new look.

I wouldn't worry too much. BBC Two's rebrand is due shortly and must surely implement the new style logo. BBC Four's idents are very easy to alter. Don't know what's happening with Three.

Worth a mention that in this months' 20th Anniversary edition of Q. They have a couple of pages on design changes over the last 20 years in popular culture/media etc and they have included the different idents used by BBC One over that time. It's not everyday you see this sort of thing in the mainstream!

I would have thought it's the other way round. With BBC Three they can just take the logo out the box (like the dog has). BBC Four would require a few changes.

Well POV sent a "viewer correspondent" to the press launch and had an interview with the controller. The press launch seemed to show clips of idents of old and of course the new ones. The only one shown full screen to us was Hippos.
During the interview the background seemed to show a 'generic' ident, full red with the circles and the logo animating on.
