All the idents are extremely well produced and having a catchy tune and different instrumentations of it. Having now viewed all the idents online here are my views on them on an ident by ident basis:-

Bikes - some similarity with the effect used from the Carlton 'fairground' idents. Nice and red.

Kids - wouldnt look out of place on ITV1 at the moment. Music reminds me of Steptoe and Son. End shot is reminiscent of a Sky Onc ident.

Kites - reasonably pleasant ident - musical arrangement is a bit weaker than the rest. One annoyance is the cgi animation of the swirling kites - it just doesnt seem to be that natural and flow properly. (might look better on screen)

Moon - thought it was a dance ident from the last batch to start with. All very relaxing! Nothing else to comment on at this stage.

Surfer - very well executed - just a shame it couldnt hold that circle wave shot for longer instead of cutting to a longer view of a large wave (not circular)

Windows - very clever and quite intriguing. My favourite.

Football - don't see any purpose of the circle warping near the start (might look more effective on screen.) Once again the animation of the guys kicking the football to each other in thatr circle doesnt seem that natural or convincing.

Hippo - second favourite just to the huge amount of effort that has gone into it. Also the music for it is spot on.

Really great idents - but (as a lot of other people have used this phrase) I don't feel they are very BBC One! I could easily see them working on five, Channel 4 and even ITV1 but I don't get what image or meaning they are trying to portray for the channel.

The imagery is quite abstract with no real meaning and I feel people will be even more perplexed than the current set on ITV1.

As short idents (just with the final image already formed) I would highly rate them. Some of the initial footage on some of the idents seems a tad odd and cut so quickly that you can't take much of it in. They make ITV1's look quite sedate and ordinary.

I can feel a mixed response coming from the public about these new idents. The money side of it is irrelevant but I feel they might baffle some of the viewers.

I love these, except for the football one. The windows one makes me dizzy. I like 'Moon'. Very nice overall, and the music is great. Well done red bee!

It's a shame it seems we've had to wait til they're about to be discarded before we start to see full playout of the current idents.

I hope you don't think they actually got real hippos to dance in a circle.... Confused

Precisely - CGI animation requires no effort whatsoever.

Does anybody know if CGI is used on the Moon ident?

So that the introduction of the new longer ones isn't such a shock?

I agree, the "shutters" will definately disappear next weekend. Like you say, sad they get daring just before the rebrand.

And they finally started doing things with the box in their trailers, like a flaming arrow going it to it for Robin Hood, and then animations for Spooks and their 'Sea' season.

I think instead of shutters we'll see circles segue into the red.

I think, to put the moon at that size...It's huge. The pieces going together was problay in a studio, with some reflective things that made the pieces glow with a moonlight ident.
