But Britain is an inclusive society, in that respect they fit the BBC perfectly!
One problem with that, in ident form. Yup, it's the dreaded on-a-whim addition, Maasai.
Pointless in every single way, but mainly because it broke the "scenes must be shot in the UK" rule -- it was filmed in Africa during Big Cat Diary, which is not a part of Britain's inclusive society, and is thus the 'odd one out'.
Yes i think the Kites and The Window ident maybe will used into the news.
Although they havent in my views as such got an ident like ballet...Which i think must be a must if they have to avoid any complaints which they got in Christmas 2005.
I think the surf ident will be an odds on chance to be played into neighbours!

I actually thought that the window ident would be used for more lifestyle programmeing, for example what not to wear etc. I also think that the football ident will only be rolled out before sporting events. I think that the main core of idents for prime time viewing will no doubt be the hippos, the bikes, surfing and the windows. I think the children will be mainly confined to the daytime hours, with the moon being confined to sombre events and late night viewing. I also think that we may see shorter versions of the idents before certain programmeing, especially the news, unless they are going to have a long musical introduction before the announcer announces the programme.
The main problem i think with the idents are unless they have shorter versions, the BBC one takes a while to animate onto the screen, at least when it is on throughout the ident can end after a few seconds.
Just seen all of the idents in their entireity on the Telegraph website and I am really pleased with the execution of these.
They have the simple idea (the circle) which has been adapted to the different scenarios rather effectively. Windows has surpassed my expectations though ITV1 does jump to mind when I see that. Moon on the other hand has a nice relaxing theme tune and will no doubt be used for sombre and late-night programming.
I was expecting a bit more from Football as the end of the ident is rather weak with just the same part over and over.
I was also surprised at the pace of Kites with a brief occurrence of the symbol and rather fast paced formation of the symbol. I was anticipating a much slower ident and am somewhat unsure if it will be used for news and serious programming (like Acrobats and Capoeira are at the moment).
However, it is nice to hear a theme tune recurring, but much more subtle than with the dancers.
My main concern though is how limited some of the idents appear to be at the moment.
Moon will have to be reserved for nights and Flowers and Windows will no doubt be reserved for daytime. Add to this that Footballers will probably only go into sport programmes then we only have four for regular programming, including one for the news and serious programming.
There surely has to be short versions of the idents.
I've got a feeling that Bikes might be the first of the new idents and Capoeira to be the last of the current lot.

They could do what Channel 4 does and do all the speaking before the BBC One logo appears.
Including an interview with Charlie Mawer who at the time of the balloon was Creative Director of BBC Creative Services and interviewed by Points of View on the forthcoming 2000 Christmas ident. Obviously still around with Ree Bee these days.
