Yes, interesting to see that - of the ones filmed in the UK - the furthest north they seem to have ventured was mid-Wales.
At least Auntie is being consistant. I didn't see many editions of the One Show with reporters any further north than Manchester!
I have to say that's just not true - there were at least 5 pieces from Scotland, one from Northern Ireland, one from Northumberland

How many idents are there with the current look?

No, that is true. I didn't see one piece with anyone further north than Manchester. I didn't say that I saw every show.
And, whoopee-do, I bet the viewers in Northern Ireland were overwhelmed with their one report in the entire series.
Apols for going off topic.

The Kites one was filmed in Wales so will probably be a local favourite.
Anyhow - re: the clock. I've no desire to see the clock back myself, but I'd like a generic "graphic" based ident, similar to what ITV1 had during most of it's celebrity era.
Also, it might just be my view but I'd like to see national announcements before the national news. The regional ones just don't seem as authoritive!

We don't know that for sure - there could be "cut off" versions which come in at form-up. The full versions will be handy for tricky junctions ie. News 24 handover. We'll just have to see on the day.

I think the use of the word 'one' is crucial to these idents, as it helps to reinforce the circles concept - note that the 'o' of the one is in the dead centre of the screen. This makes it look very much like the logo has been designed specifically to work with these idents, and suggests we may not see the other BBC channels adopt logos in the same style.
For me, since 1985 BBC1 has alternated between great idents and complete rubbish. 1985 - simple, classy and brilliant. 1991 - a real disappointment. More technologically advanced, but all the worse for it - a complete mess. 1997 - a genius way of keeping the globe, but doing it in a whole new way. 2002 - do I need to explain? 2006 - not genius, but better than what it's replacing, and at least they actually look like idents this time.

II just think Red Bee missed a trick though , and that is the fact they went for "one" as opposed to the single numeral 1 in the circle centre.

It always used to be the case that every time a channel got new idents they'd be vastly superior to what went before. I suppose that was mainly due to technology and production techniques constantly improving.

Well I've sort of spoilt it for myself by seeing them now, curse this new age of internet technology and outlets actually being interested in uploading them!
Agreed about the football one - looks really dodgy at the end. Before seeing the video I actually expected some of the "formup" bits to be short but it looks like they're all pretty long. If they've not done short versions already, I can imagine them soon turning up. Otherwise you'll end up E4-style with the logo not always resolving before the programme or C4 where they talk from any point in the ident. Unless of course the decision from next Saturday will be for the idents to be given a decent length as a matter or course - like C4 and Five do (ie full length).
In regards to them not being very BBC compared to the past, I agree to an extent but there's no way anyone could say an ident like Festival was BBC One-esque.
The Moon one looks great as does Kites - as near to Swiss SF's channel idents as I'm going to see!

Do hey have to be British-related, the content on the channel certainly isn't. The globe wasn't 'British' either

Oh great - so we've got more cr*p ones to look forward to in 2011 when this lot are replaced then !!!!
On a more serious note...
I have just watched the Bikes ident from both the Media Guardian (posted yesterday) and The Telegraph (posted today). The music is subtely (but notably) different on each version !
Which begs the question - which is the 'finished' version? If it's the Telegraph one then that means they've tweaked the music already before it's even been aired. If it's the Guardian one, then that suggests that the Telegraph's version of the idents may not be the finished/broadcast version - and therefore all the other idents may be slightly different by the time they air.
What do people think, and has anyone else noticed this?

There is something very "european tv" about these. With the new theme (what else could we call it, a jingle?) and the imagery, it feels like it belongs on a dutch or belgian national broadcaster. Love them all, bar the football one which ends badly.
Finally, BBC One has an air of classiness once more.
