New look for BBC1

I like the hippos to, as it is something completely different. I also like the kites and think it will probably be used prior to news programmes.

The only one I hate is Football. It's REALLY annoying. The rest are great - especially Surfer. Can't wait to see them on screen...

Very nice, Im usually not too sure when it comes down to basic design, but the whole feel is nice.

Would like to see the BBC logo in the new typeface though.

Having seen the montage, they all are really rather nice. I'd say Kites is my favourite... although the music on it really reminds me of the late 90s Carlton / Central pre-news ident (the one where the 'T' becomes the 't' of 'itv'). I'd guess this is the one we'd be most likely to see before news bulletins.

And the moon ident will work beautifully for going into News 24 late at night.

Not keen on the soundtracks. I'd have preferred a different tune, but they look good.

They are very nice, I particulayy like how the logo is more prominent than the thing in the video. looking back i think that's eh main problem with the dancers - they are the focus of attention rather than the name of the channel. Also these have a definite 'resolve' which only the balloons have had in the past.

I expect there are some cut down versions, some seem a little long

i'd expect the rig-a-roses would be used in running over into CBBC or (more likely) Cbeebies. Not as keen on the footballs one but really i think all of the video's are great.

The hippo one is very good

I still think it's a great set of idents, but they just don't suit BBC One. Each time I see one from those links it just reminds me of Sky One. Perhaps it's the logo, or maybe the pace of each ident, but something doesn't feel right.

I agree - easily the weakest one of the set. The circle of footballers at the end when the logo reveals is poor - look at their feet when they are kicking the balls - it looks like they've used that horrible choppy technique of playing the film forwards then backwards then forwards again, it always looks cheap to me.

However, this is likely to be used in front of Grandstand and MOTD etc, and since I don't watch football I'm therefore not really that bothered !

The others I absolutely love.

the music on the hippo one is good and either the hippos or the windows one will be used first (because everyone loves the hippo's and windows is very morning-ish). The surfers is the easiest to fit into the anoucer because it's just the right length.

I love them - just can't stop watching them. Personally, I find that they are very 'BBC'ish' - it gives BBC one a real indivituality and it stands out from most other channels.

Personally the one I'm least keen on is the Hippo ident. It just seems a bit contrived and silly to me.

A couple of other observations...

Is anyone else put in mind of Remembrance Sunday with Ring-A-Roses with all those falling poppy-leaves? And I can't help feeling the way Bikers resolves looks like a big Comic Relief nose.
