How does everyone know for sure that the relaunch will come in October? Wouldn't 2nd November, the 70th anniversary of BBC ONE's launch be a better date? If it's guess work it could be Robin Hood day or the birthday...?
Michael Selby had some fun at the end of tonight on ONE NI...
Note: Before I go any further; I had so many processes running on the computer at the time of capturing, that it had to drop many frames; so
this video is unfortunately very

If anyone wants the audio only but in better quality, you can PM me.
That is very good, nice to see that some people appreciate the presentation as much as we do. I wonder whether it was a last minute thing so that they went into News 24 at the certain point, or whether it was planned.
I thought I'd record last night just on the off chance and wow - absolute full credit to Michael Selby. I was watching it back waiting for the anno to kick in over Tumbler and then to go into Skateboarders with a great announcement was superb. Don't want to step on your toes Paul but I'll see if I can get an upload of it later today too.
Credit where credit's due though to the Network guys last night - Becky giving us a full Bounce ident and Phil with (almost!) a full Acrobats with a nice announcement plugging tonight's shows and wishing us a goodnight.
Brilliant stuff from Michael - now without wanting to open up further conspiracy theories, it was he who did a 35 second balloons montage for the final handover to N24. You don't think that in the run up to the dancers being phased out we're going to be treated to all of the symbols in full do you? Or would that be too much to hope for?
Yes, a great set of closedowns from the team at Network BBC last night, as Asa says, but top marks to Michael Selby of NI for the full clean showing of Tumbler, and then a full showing of Skateboarders with a great announcment, into News 24 - great stuff!
According to Digiguide, there's a 1 hour slot for drama on 7/10 at 1905, which presumably is for Robin Hood, although it doesn't say so. It also says that In It To Win It is back on that day - a mistake surely?
Ballet shown on Wales yet again, before Aberfan; very fitting actually.
Friday 6th does seem like a sensible date for Network to show it, right before N24. Shame they don't always make mention of these changes, but hopefully they will do on this occasion.
I just hope they have a different announcer on Network than the one who was duty last thing 28 March 2002...
IMO the most fitting way to end the idents is as they began with Capoeira (in full) with an announcement commenting on the new look by either Duncan or Dean.
It would be nice to see a return of Tai Chi Reflection and Haka before the change as well.
We can always hope I suppose...
In the north west they have just shown Haka. But it had just 'north' in the box not north west. It was shown before the rugby league show

All of the BBC1 Northern England regions (NE&Cumbria,Yorks&Lincs, North West) opted out of tonight's film to show Rugby League Raw. This happened last Autumn as well. The same ident and anno was played out across all 3 regions, hence the BBC ONE North red box and "This is BBC1 in the north of England".
Just out of interest, where does the playout for the north of england come from? Newcastle, Leeds or Manchester? I'm guessing Manchester.
Great to see both the Haka ident, and the word North in the red box which we've never had before. Last year there was no name in the red box, just BBC ONE. I quite like Northern England opting out of the network. I didn't tape it, has anyone got any caps? Andrew, where are you?
