I saw a trailer for Robin Hood last night (Saturday). I don't know if I was mistaken but the BBC1 red box logo was a lighter shade of red. Is this a sign of things to come........?

BBC Midlands had a feature on Midlands Today when the mechanical globe gave way to the COW, showing how it had worked - "Stop the world, I want to get off" was their version.

It's good to see BBC One changing their trailer graphics for special programmes such as Spooks. I prefer the black endboard.

I just saw the trailer now and it was a lighter shade of red.

It a bit early to start the the trailer as it still 3 weeks left, I also saw one for SCD.

Well according to the Radio Times website, there's what looks like a new programme on Saturday, September 30th, and it's on for nearly 4 hours. It's called "To Be Announced".

Well we know for next week the Saturday schedule is filled up by this Lottery programme and October 7th has the football and more than likely one of either Strictly Come Dancing or Robin Hood. However if one looks at the schedule for Saturday 30th then there is nothing happening to fill the schedule.

Three questions: firstly when is Casualty returning, secondly how long is Robin Hood going to last and thirdly is there any certainty that SCD (and Robin Hood) are to start on October 7th?
If the allocated time slots on Radio Times are to be adhered by then there is a fifty minute slot at 20.20, the usual Casualty time, there is the usual lottery slot at 19.35 and there is 18.10-19.35 which could fit in a feature-length drama, which I suspect may be Robin Hood if the first part is of this duration. However I am aware that these are subject to change and are not likely to be stuck to.

If SCD and Robin Hood appear on October 7th with the football as earlier posters have mentioned then there is no doubt that there will be a relaunch this day, though I can't help but feel that we might relaunch at a stranger time of the day, say after Breakfast in the middle of the week sometime.

This last point also brings up one final question - have we any confirmation that the relaunch will indeed happen on a Saturday? The last relaunch occurred on Good Friday at 09.00 and the last two mainstream BBC One idents (Tumbler and Masai) were launched at 09.15.

Next Saturday's shedule goes like this;
5.50pm Men in Black
7:20pm National Lottery: Everyone's a Winner
8.20pm Casualty - Part 1/2
9.10pm National Lottery: Everyone's a Winner
10:10pm Match of the Day

Robin Hood is 13 episodes lasting 45 minutes each.
Casualty concludes on the 24th at 8.00pm.

According to the BBC's Pressoffice on the 30th September, Casualty will be at 8.10 and the final hour long comedy (The Good Housekeeping Guide) will be at 9.00 - finishing at 10.00.

I really do not understand why the BBC can't just announce their new look launch dates. Obviously we are emphasising on BBC1 on this particular thread, but is it known if BBC2 will launch on the same day? After all, the secrecy is kind of annoying......let's face it, they're launching idents, not a top secret security code.

I personally consider a relaunch of BBC TWO at the same time to be highly unlikely. I'd be surprised if it did happen, but that said, I cannot rule it out.

A lot of it is down to educated guesses based on hearsay. I'm suprised that nobody has come forward with any sneak info. We do know that both channels will be getting a revamp and I'd assume it'd happen on the same day.

I'm wondering if Breakfast will give us a little sneak peak like they did when the BBC1 idents were introduced. Did Breakfast do a feature on the new yellow/white BBC2 idents before they launched? The first time I saw them was when Liquid News (with the much missed Christopher Price) was talking to Jane Root about them in the studio and the general feeling of the guests were that they weren't keen.

Why would they want to? What possible benefit would it be to them to do so? I'm sure it will be announced closer to the time, just like the last ones were.
