Football is usually on for two and three quarter hours. If the programme starts at 5.00pm, the kick off will be 5.15. At a few minutes past six the half time whistle will blow with 15 minutes of in depth analysis. At 6.15 the second half will begin until 7.05 approx. A further 10-15 minutes of analysis and interviews will follow meaning the ealiest the football would finish is 7.15pm. So for the sake of half an hour, the schedules could look like this:
5.00pm Football
7.15 Strictly Come Dancing
8.30 Robin Hood
9.15 The lottery Show
9.55 Casualty
10.45 BBC News
11.05 Strictly Come Dancing Results
11.30 Late Film
So, I still think that the new programme that is Robin Hood may start on the 14th. Of course it may be that SCD will start on the 7th at 7.15 followed by the Lottery, followed by casualty and then the SCD results. Football actually p/i/s/s/e/s me off because it's like everything has to evolve around it. Saturday night TV has been crap for so long now, it looks like we've an extra week to wait now!

I think it will be more like this to be honest -
4.25 BBC News; Regional News; Weather
4.45 Match of the Day Live: England vs Macedonia (5pm ko)
7.05 Robin Hood
7.50 Strictly Come Dancing
9.05 National Lottery - 1 vs 100
9.50 Strictly Come Dancing
10.20 BBC News; Weather
10.40 Film
Casualty on Sunday 8.10pm or just having a week off, or 1 vs 100 won't have started yet, they show Casualty at 9.05 with the Lottery draws on before the news.
But Strictly Come Dancing is confirmed to start that day and Robin Hood seems very likely to start then.

Robin Hood will definitely be on at the family audience time, starting no later than 7:30.
I think it has to start one week earlier than you're currently suggesting (i.e. Sept 30th), because it's a 13 week run.
It makes sense to start on the 30th Sept as then the last episode will then run on December 23rd.

PS
I read somewhere (MediaGuardian?) that Robin Hood has been designed to run up to Christmas, so that if it is popular they have something good to show on Christmas day (the series finale), and if it's not, they'll stick it on at some other point over the Christmas period.

I just hope they have a different announcer on Network than the one who was duty last thing 28 March 2002...
I'd quite like it if they would acknowledge that the idents are being changed on the night before just like Andy Cartledge did when the BBC2 ident changed from 'TWO' to a number 2.
I'll always remember his words when the TWO disappeared back into the white background, 'and away it goes forever.'

Ballet shown on Wales yet again, before Aberfan; very fitting actually.
Friday 6th does seem like a sensible date for Network to show it, right before N24. Shame they don't always make mention of these changes, but hopefully they will do on this occasion.

i must admit, your schedule looks far more likely than mind in hindsight. looking back to the 2nd September, football did indeed start at 4.45pm and it finished at 7.05pm for "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria". And, having Casualty on a Sunday is not uncommon. So, I stand corrected and it does again look likely for a 7th October launch.
With reference to Robin Hood on Christmas Day, I can't see that happening. There is already Doctor Who and The Vicar of Dibley as well as the obligatory hour long EastEnders with the likely premiere of "Pirates Of The Caribbean: Curse Of The Black Pearl" on that day too. I think the series finale will air on the same day as the launch of this years Christmas ident: 23rd December. SCD final will probably be on this day too.

Robin Hood can't start on Saturday 30th September because Casualty starts at 8.10, and is followed by The Good Housekeeping Guide at 9.00, and other people in this forum reckon the lottery show will last fourty minutes. So Robin Hood would start at 6.45, which I can't see happening. Also if it was on the 30th wouldn't it be in the programme info area of the BBC Pressoffice.

The schedules for 30th September will be published on the Radio Times website tomorrow. It is possible that Robin Hood could start on this day with SCD starting the following week.
e.g
5.40 Just For Laughs
6.10 Weakest Link
7.00 Robin Hood
7.45 The Lottery Show
8.25 Casualty
9.15 The Good Housekeeping Guide
10.15 BBC News
10.35 Match Of The Day
So it is possible that the show could start then........................................

Well it looks like Robin Hood definitely starts October 7th because one of the writers, Paul Cornell, mentioned it on his website.

They made an even bigger deal on BBC1 - "we leave you with our very last look at the BBC1 globe". In Scotland, Alma Cadzow proclaimed "goodbye cruel world"(!)
