BBC1 will be taking News 24 (plus countdowns) until 10am, as usual.

It was great to see Ballet again for the first time in years. They really should have used it more. But hey! Too late now!

All I hope is that they bring more onstream quickly - we know there will be 8 to start with, but I would like it if there was to be a new one (as with Channel 4's current set) every 2-3 weeks.

It keeps things fresh.

Oh well, it was good to see them all (including a discontinued one) for the last time in broadcast quality!

Oh, I'm not alone then. It will be weird. I was never fond of them, but I'll still miss then. Weird.

Although to be fair, the music was one element of the package that did work; but certainly not enough to save it.


One of the things I did actually like about the idents, unlike these new ones, I did like the music, especially on Skateboarders.

Brilliant...just brilliant! Can't wait for people to post videos later! As I sat there...with beer in hand...I thought 'why are they going?' Laughing ..but all good things come to an end...as they always say! Bring on the 'circles'! Laughing

Having stood and watched that with my flatmates (their choice, not mine) two interesting things were said

1 - "god there's loads of them isn't there"
and 2 - "what's that one?" when ballet appeared

Now that was lovely. As said, Ballet was a very nice ident. Better, probably, for not being aired so much, makes it that little bit more special when it does turn up. The whole atmosphere is rather baloon-esque.

Nice to see it one last time, before wishing it well.

I hope a cap is online before too long.

It's funny how everyone slated them but now they miss them and actually realise just how fond of them they really are/were..
